Am I blind or did you have Everette Brown falling out of the first round?
-
I know some people think hes overrated, but really is he THAT worse of a prospect than, say, Derrick Harvey last year?
The simple fact is that pass rushers are considered premium players, and for all his faults, Brown CAN rush the passer very well. Considering the Jags traded up big to get a guy like Harvery last year indicates someone in the first who is desperate for a passrush will make a move.
I dont buy it, and this is from a person who also thinks Brown is overrated.Stitches likes this. -

Maybin will go in rd 1 though, for the same reason Brown will, they are pass rushers and pretty talented, if not refined.azfinfanmang and texanphinatic like this. -
Considering the proliferation of spread offenses and their elements throughout the league. And, the sheer number of offensive tackles chosen last year and likely this year should be equaled out by placing a premium on pass rushers.
Pass rushers are always overvalued, Harvey is a great example. Jammal Anderson is another one. Anderson was a shoe in to the Falcons 2 years ago at #8. I think he had like 6 sacks his senior year.
Pass rushers get overvalued, because speed off the edge kills, and you can't coach it. Many other things you can fix, but speed is one you can't. And, that just so happens to be a big factor in being a good to great pass rusher. You need some burst to make the tackle vulnerable.Stitches likes this. -

Nah Bro:
DJ Moore is maybe a bit to small for us to take at #25, Parcell's and presumably Ireland and Sparano like "Large Football Players", a cat like Steve Smith if we Db, or just some large guy, name unimportant. -
-
I dont think there is ANY way we take DJ Moore ahead of either Smith for CB. I also dont see the current FO taking a DB at the first pick anyways...not unless they are named Davis or Jenkins. -
A wr would not be a bad pick, but who was the last Wr the Jets took in rd 1? Keyshawn?124 likes this. -

Moore is also pretty willing in run support for someone his size.124 likes this. -
BUT, that is why I think our FO would never take him. He is a very solid Corner, especially in coverage. He is not used to taking on RB's 40 and 50 lbs more than him week in and week out. I dont care how tough you are, when you come in weighing 180 lbs, that is a very very tough role to take.
