Ok, regardless of jt stinking up the joint this offseason, and all the dancing stuff....he and zach gave all out heart and soul for our miami dolphins....for over a decade....they bled, they cried, they cheered, they won us all over, we bought the jerseys with their names on them....hell...i named my son Zachary Thomas Cullen....
i have tears in my eyes right now, because they deserved to win a division, and go into the playoffs and have this core of coaches, players, and FO people around them for their entire careers.....all with the miami dolphins being their team....
it didnt work out that way....now they both sit at home at the twilight of their careers....while the dolphins win 11 games....win the afc east....and host a playoff game....with a heavenly bright future ahead of us....they can only watch from home...and i am sure they will be rooting....yet i am sad....sad for those guys...they deserved a ring with the miami dolphins....they wont get it....but damnit i love those 2 guys with everything in me....as tears roll down right now thinking of what they gave to us....us fans, our team....our legacy....
they took pay cuts, they changed positions....(jason) they worked with every ****ty coach that was brought in, from wanny, to jimmy, to nick satan, to cam-cam....they didnt talk smack, they didnt bash the team, they didnt bash our city....they even left their numbers here, cause they will always be #99 and #54 as miami dolphins....i feel for them....they deserved what our future now holds for our miami dolphins....they deserved to be young, in their prime with multiple chances at titles in their sights....they didnt get it....but they are 2 of the greatest miami dolphins i have ever watched....and for that....i love those guys.....they will be rooting beside us for the dolphins next sunday....
so miami.....lets do the unthinkable....lets make some noise in the postseason....for miami, for the team, for us fans....and for jason and zach!!!!!!
god bless! Go Dolphins! :ffic:

Zach yes.
Jason forced his own way off this team and didn't want to honor his contract to the Miami Dolphins. I feel nothing towards him.Fin D, HULKFish, ATL-Dolfan and 9 others like this. -
I have not even thought about them to be honest I have been so happy. But I am sure no matter what happen this offseason with both of those guys I am sure they are happy for us and they know we are thinking about them.

hey, maybe those guys will sign with us in the off-season...if the old timers want that one last shot with a contender.

He signed to play with the Miami Dolphins. There is no clause in any players contract that says when the going gets rough you go to a new team.
In the end he didn't want to stay here. At the start of the season the players who believed we would be here thought this is where we would be (And I myself predicted around 8 wins, but this is much better than even I thought)
Jason obviously only cares about himself.Fin D, Larry Little and PMZQ like this. -

Cut JT some slack. He bled aqua and orange just like Zach did. They're the same guy.

Meh.....
I'm a fan of the Miami Dolphins organization not really of any of the individuals playing in it, especially now with how crazy Free Agency has made the league.
JT left on his own accord and seems to have a focus more on Hollywood than football so I don't feel for him one little bit.
Zach deserved more than going to a team full of egomaniacal primadonna's so I do feel for him a little.
Overall though, I really don't care, I care that the Dolphins team is back. -
Can't get mad at Jason for wanting to get off of what looked like a very bad team (turned out to be untrue thanks to Penny and Co). Organizations do it all the time, it's just the business part of the NFL. Organizations cut great and loyal players due to cap situation/injuries/doesn't fit system/etc all the time (Zach Thomas rings a bell). You have to realize it's a business and Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas are forever Miami Dolphins. Although it's been a rough season for them, i guarantee you they will be cheering for the Dolphins in the postseason.

I love my Dolphins, and I hate disloyalty......what Jason Taylor did was disloyal to the franchise many of you claim he loves. Well when it came down to it, he loved himself more than his teammates. So he can continue to love himself, at home, out of the playoffs and he can think hard and long about how he let down Mr Huizenga, Bill Parcells, Tony Sparano and all DolFans.
I hate feeling this way, because I used to be the biggest JT fan, but that all changed the day he had his "press conference" after DWTS had ended and made it clear he wanted out of here. He got his wish and now he can watch the Dolphins instead of being a part of it. Its karma.Fin D, cnc66, Themole and 1 other person like this. -

[mod]please, no insults[/mod] Ok the guy wanted to change teams he is not the first and not the last. But you saying he only cares about himself is such a stupid comment that was not thought through. You really dont know what this guys does. He helps out children with cancer by visting them in the hospital. He helps the ASPCA. That is just the start.lease think before you post. -

I feel sorry for Zach because given the minutest chance he would have stayed here.
However, with JT I honestly believe that we wouldn't have done this well with him here. This isn't a shot at JT the player, but more an acknowledgment that the relationship between JT and the top brass at the 'phins had irretrievably broken down and that him staying here would have been a complete off field distraction, especially in the crucial training camp period. If the marriage is broken down there's no point remembering how great the honeymoon was and its time for a divorce. If JT had been traded 2 or 3 seasons ago when he still was passionate about the 'phins I'd feel sorry for him, but the 'phins and JT had parted ways long before he was traded to the 'skins. -
Thank jason Taylor for this if he did not leave our rookie would not have started.
-
Of course this turns into a bash Jason Taylor thread. The man did a lot for this team and this community. None of you know what really went on behind the scenes. None of you. Funny that some of the same people who will bash JT based on complete assumptions will defend Wes Welker who admitted that he dreamed of playing for another team. I wonder if Wes will watch the Fins playoff game next weekend at his house?

I wish Zach was still here. I feel we'd be a better defense with him. He's all heart, and he's one of the greatest Dolphins ever. He'll always be a Dolphin to me. I wish he could have been a part of whipping the Jets... in NY... in the final game... to win the AFC East.
Jason Taylor can suck it. -

I love those two players. Those two, along with Marino, are why I grew up loving the dolphins. Great years watching them. But with that said, I think this rebuilding project needed new blood. They needed new leaders. And I think this had a great part in how this year turned out. Everyone bought into the new system...which hasn't happened in previous years.

Dan Marino's agent once demanded a trade, held out of training camp, and gave the team a list of teams he would like to be traded to. JT wanted off, but was willing to play if not. he never held out.

He made it loud and clear he was not happy to be here and wanted out. He got his wish, and I hope he is happy with it. He's not a Dolphin right now because of his own selfishness. He may have seemed a team player, but in the end his own ego, fueled by an agent that saw $$$ and (supposed) talk by some in Hollywood that JT was a superstar in the making.
Well I don't see Hollywood begging for JT anymore, and I am skeptical that any of that "Hollywood Talk" actually happened. I believe in my heart it was a concerted and calculated effort by JT, to get himself out of a Dolphins uniform since late last season. -

Boy, some of you guys are harsh.
I am, and forever will be a fan of both Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas. I am willing to bet money that both of those guys will be rooting for us in the playoffs, as I would be for them had they made it.
One offseason dispute is not going to sour JT's accomplishments here in Miami and everything he did for this team. He was a great Dolphin and leader and I miss seeing him on the defense.
My admiration for Zach is unmatched. A modern day Sam Mills, but somehow even better. To me, he epitomizes what football is all about. Grit, determination, heart and desire. Its too bad that they couldn't be here for one last hurrah, but again, I will not trash them and will continue to be fans of both of them. -

Thank you. I dont understand how people can be so harsh on Jason Taylor. All the things he did for us he you guys just seem to brush him off like all he has done here is cause trouble. Wow on little thing went wrong. Well if you chose to rember him that way then fine put I dont understand how you can do that. One little thing goes wrong and and you are on his case and he is one of the biggest trouble makers in the NFL. I just dont understand.
