So where is the Tannehill trolling now? The o-line pulls it's weight and run game expodes and look what happens...a more efficient QB overall. He played great last night, 20 for 28, 208 yards, a touchdown and most importantly: no turnovers....Dalton, whom everyone before the game might write off hands-down as the better QB was 32 for 53 and had 3 picks, including a pick 6.
If Ryan can get this kind of perfomance out of his offensive team consistently...then he'll be consistent too. It isn't a matter of him proving his talent anymore, that has been done and last night was further confirmation....It is about consistency for everyone, from Clabo to Sherman, Miller to Wallace, Tannehill to Hartline.
This team is very close to being complete, and if lady luck was on our side thus far...we'd be 7-1...but please let's just bench the QB search for now, we found our guy. The commentators mentioned it on the opening drive...and i'll reiterate...Tannehill has the most consecutive starts of any Dolphin QB other than Bob, Dan, and Fielder....all of whom led playoff/SB teams....
Annnd....cue the "every Tannehill dropback vs. Bengals" video....

As much as I hate to say it, I think the city of Miami belongs to James and Wade....
After saying that, I still believe Tanny is going to be a solid QB in this league.NolesNPhinsFan, unluckyluciano and MikeHoncho like this. -

If we're talking about whose city this is, James and Wade are quite valid. It is their city.
As to Tannehill, I'm reserving judgement. I think we need to see more. But that was a pretty good game for Ryan.

Guess Tanny winning a handful of games is more important to the city then Wade and James winning back to back championships...

The city belongs to Cuban drug lords. Didn't you watch CSI Miami??

Dewayne Wade? Drug lords?
The title should be read as "This is Ryan Tannehill, and this is the city I reside in/represent/cherish" etc (reference to the Thursday night football team and commercial cards), not "This is Ryan Tannehill and I own/rule/control Miami".
Jesus guys.... -

LeBron's city until the Fins make a run in the playoffs AT LEAST!
The attendance last night was horrendous, not even close to Tannehill's city.......yetMikeHoncho likes this. -
the city belongs to david beckham now..........
as for tanny I think he's our guy. But, still has a ways to go to get to being that guy. -
We need it. This franchise needs it. We don't acquire it by firing people left and right and starting from 0 every 5 years.
That said, this city belongs to the Heat.RevRick, anlgp and steveincolorado like this. -

He played really well last night, that pass to get us into overtime was amazing, every Qb in the league cannot make that throw. Tannehill has a lot of talent when the offensive line gets its issues worked out and the running game starts working we will be in good shape with Tannehill. The people that have made up their mind that he can't be a good NFL Qb are pretty stupid, I don't know any other way to say it. He's obviously been under more duress than any other Qb in the league thats an insane thing to do to a 2nd year Qb.

Our offense scored 13 points. Let's not start sucking each other off just yet.
You know it's crazy when a no-turnover game warrants a thread where we proclaim that QB owns the city.
It's a good start. Throw 35-40 TDs with 10 INTs or less, then we talk.Vertical Limit and Bpk like this. -

Is this about the NFLN "this my city" promo that I think Tannehill was in?
-
He played fine. We need to expect no INTs as a baseline for a decent day though, not time to hail the QBs greatness.
I'm with JDang. Almost 5 quarters of football. 13 offensive points.
If that were our average for the year we'd have the leagues last placed offense.
So no, I don't think Tannehill was amazing last night.
He was "adequate". And showed impressive skills and poise in the process.
(Edit: I just did the math and with yesterday's offensive output we'd be neck and neck for worst offense in the league with around 11 pts per games)

Rat didn't play much differently than he has most games. He just had more help. Neither did Dalton for that matter. He had about as many inaccurate passes as most games, maybe less. The D just made him pay for those. And the low point total was partially the result of the D's struggles and their long drives. The O wasn't prolific or anything, but extrapolating that score to a yearly total is ridiculous.

Have we become so imprinted with horrible QB play that we don't have the patience to give a young (by any sane definition!) QB time to grow into the position here, or are we like kids on Christmas morning - play with the toy until it bores us and reach for the next wrapped package?MikeHoncho likes this. -

And the whole 13 points on offense thing is ridiculous, in my opinion. First off, we wanted to run the ball more. That's going to make for shorter games and lower scores. You can't ask the Dolphins to stick with the running game, and then also score 45 points. To expect that is asinine. The reality is, we have a two minute drive where Lamar Miller makes a 41-yard run but fumbles on a drive where we would have surely had points. I'm not sure if people conveniently forget, but the Dolphins had a 93-yard drive themselves, shades of the New England first half where running and short passing were the key contributors, that ate up most of the second quarter to go ahead. Oh and by the way, Tannehill did score the TD on a quick snap sneak, which was a smart play. When we got the Patterson INT with 28 seconds left in the half at the 39 yard line... that wasn't in FG range for Sturgis, who had missed one earlier in the game. So Tannehill hits Wallace to get us into FG range, but is then sacked with no chance, as so often happens, to make a FG iffy again. So with little time, he nails Hartline with a pass to get us back into comfortable Sturgis range. That was good quarterbacking. The third quarter was two long Cinci drives with a 97-yard pick-six sandwich. And then, in the 4th quarter, the offense was victimized by two PIs, one offensive and one no-call, that would have and should have extended drives. And when we absolutely had-had-had to have him be big with 1:24, only one time out, and starting at our own 20, even with all our OL problems that have to be somewhere in the back of his mind, Tannehill was MONEY.
While I might miss the point of it being his city (because it's not), I sure want it to be. If/when it is, the Miami Dolphins will be winners. And Thursday night was a step in the right direction. -
This could be Tannehill's town, but not yet. Maybe next season if A: we grow an OL, and B: we figure out how to stop opponents in third and long situations. Cincy last I heard it was 8 for 12 in 3rd & long Thursday night. It will only become Tannehill's town when the Dolphins get back to the playoffs, consistently. -
Micky Arison owns Miami. Ross is close. Could overtake him soon.

Here in Denver, it's still Elway's town even though Peyton is leading the Broncos.
