AFTER the draft.
Originally, it was an IDP league with return yards. 12 Teams.
22 total starting spots including 2 starting QBs.
Return yards, 10 per point.
Passing yards, 10 per point.
All TDs are 6.
Then, after the draft, the commish added 0.5 PPR........ AND 0.5 per completion.
DEF was also adjusted somehow (in a way that hurts me).
Now the commish is asking the league if he can do away with return yards. Total BS.
Is it normal to change the point settings around after the draft occurs? Seems to lack integrity IMO.
Here's my team and each player's projected totals (as it sits now w/o returns removed):
QB- Rivers.............. 764
QB- Ryan................ 682
WR- Dez................. 202
WR- Harvin............. 252
WR- Hester............. 314
RB- Turner.............. 225
RB- R Bush............. 224
TE- Z Miller............. 165
W/T- Amendola....... 132 (this doesn't account for him returning punts/kicks)
W/R- Fred Jackson.. 160
BN- Antonio Brown.. 185
BN- CJ Spiller......... 195
BN- Pettigrew......... 105
BN- Ginn................ 221
BN- Deji Karim........ 219
BN- Andy Dalton..... 400
K- Carpenter............. 274
DEF- Zona................ 220 (playing Carolina week 1).
DL- Calais Campbell.. 130
DT- Lamarr Houston.. 106
DE- Peppers............. 160
DE- Jared Allen......... 170
LB- Derrick Johnson... 257
DB- Eric Berry........... 276
CB- Joe Haden.......... 276
CB- Leigh Bodden...... 255
S- Pat Chung............ 197
S- Tvon Branch......... 248
BN- Pat Peterson....... 204
I could be going from first to worst w/o a game even playing.
Can you write Yahoo and delete your team from a league for shenanigans like this?

No, it's not normal to change settings after the draft. Your commissioner is at best abusing his power, and at worst is attempting to manipulate the settings to better fit his team because he doesn't like his draft.
You should strongly consider quitting that league.unluckyluciano, Boik14, Vengeful Odin and 2 others like this. -
Yea, if it was a $ league I'd demand my money back for the scoring being changed after the draft.
If it was a free league I still might quit, but I'd at the very least demand return to original scoring or a re-draft with the new settings.ToddsPhins likes this. -
I spoke up against the return yards being removed, so now they're staying put..... although he kinda *****ed about it. Too bad. lol.
Is it normal or overboard to add PPR, PPC, and change defensive points after a draft?
I also said there should be points given per rush attempt to balance out the addition of PPR & PPC after the draft.
IMO this is fair & appropriate for the teams who drafted RBs based on no ppr......... so he added in 0.25 per attempt.
Now my team looks good again (at least according to my novice eye).
Here's the adjusted point projections (offense).
QB- Rivers.............. 772
QB- Ryan................ 691
WR- Dez................. 202
WR- Harvin............. 258
WR- Hester............. 314
RB- Turner.............. 298
RB- R Bush............. 282
TE- Z Miller............. 165
W/T- Amendola....... 132 (this doesn't account for him returning punts/kicks)
W/R- Fred Jackson.. 216
BN- Antonio Brown.. 185
BN- CJ Spiller......... 220
BN- Pettigrew......... 105
BN- Ginn................ 221
BN- Deji Karim........ 242
BN- Andy Dalton..... 400
Any suggestions who should start at W/R?
Rafael mentioned something about sticking with players who are more consistent throughout the year, so I penciled in Jackson.
I could've had Rivers, Brees, and Blount instead of Rivers, Ryan, Turner. Lesson learned. lol. -
Changing scoring after a draft is not normal at all. It is frankly grounds for the entire league to dissolve IMO.

I'd kick myself out if I ever tried to pull that in Armchair GMs.ToddsPhins likes this. -

A few things:
1. The guy in the 2nd column has already adjusted his roster so that his entire starting team is starting against me in week 9.
With Jared Allen & Harvin on the bench in week 9, right now I'm at a "projected" 356.29 (me) vs 377.69 (him). However, if we meet in the week 16 Championship, I'm at 395 projected vs his 361, so that temporarily looks good.
2. I play the guy in the the 3rd column twice. Week 2 projected: me 392.96; him 308.42. Week 13: me 368.04; him 350.09.
3. I'd like to weasel the column #2 guy into a trade for Brandon Marshall. I offered Ryan, Harvin, and Ginn for Romo & Marshall. (no answer so far)
Since Harvin has a week 9 bye when I play him, I thought maybe Percy for Brandon straight up???? .......
......or perhaps bait him with Harvin & Tvon Branch for Marshall & TJ Ward to make it seem like I value Percy more than Brandon.
4. Should I trade Hester for someone more "consistent"? (What about Ryan, Harvin, & Hester for Rodgers & Marshall?)
5. If the rest of my season looks strong, should I strategically be looking for ways to improve my week 9 and playoffs even if it costs me a few points elsewhere?
6. I think my bench is solid, so I'd like to do a combo trade using one of my starters to upgrade that starters position. Who's the weakest link?
7. Do you guys think we'll see an increase in KO returns later in the season as the temperature drops? If so, is Hester worth keeping b/c of it?Two Tacos likes this. -
PS: the GM isn't one of the 2 teams I posted. He's a .500 team at best in my inexperienced opinion. -
League GM changed or added after the draft:
1. Comp points set to '.5'
2. Rec points set to '.5'
3. return yards & KO/PR TDs removed from DEF/ST (I originally had Chicago).
4. Rec Yds (Bonus 1) changed from '5 points at 85 yards' to '5 points at 100 yards'
5. Rec Yds (Bonus 2) changed from '8 points at 100 yards' to '8 points at 115 yards'

PS: This GM's an idiot.
He designs a league where QBs reign supreme, yet his 2 starters are Flacco & Orton???
What'a maroon! -
If its free then I would just play it out especially since its your first year ever. So you can learn the ropes. I would not join the league again. Or even play with that same GM again. I hate weak commissioners or even shady owners.
I think you can complain to yahoo but I'm not sure.ToddsPhins likes this. -
I would quit the league just to put this commish in a bad spot and teach him a lesson. Absolutely cannot change points after the draft.

Yeah definitely a bad move by your commissioner. If it's a free league, I'd stick it out. If it's a money league, I'd demand a re-draft.

Agree with the consensus here. Even if the scoring is whack, you cant change it after the draft.

I agree with the consensus. You simply cannot change the scoring rules after the draft. If the commish forced it, I would quit on principal alone.
