Downloading NCAA 10 as we speak it's a pretty big demo.. about 1.5 gigs if I remember. I'll post my thoughts once I try it out, although if FCS isn't in the game this year I will probably pass.

Downloading now.

Well just fired it up and havent played yet (exploring the menus).
I love this...
"New to NCAA football 10 are field goal nets, windsocks on the uprights, regular and pennant style flags around the stadiums, and camera flashes in the crowd."
Well, took EA long enough to put those in. This was in the "college atmosphere section" and made me laugh. I'll get playing now.
Also looks like the recruiting from NCAA 07 still isn't option. I missed that simple recruiting.Big E likes this. -
My internet is being slow and finicky, so mine is at like 27%. Blah.

Thoughts:
Well the jersey customization options are pretty cool. You can choose from a preset or change indivually the helmet, jersey, pants, socks, and shoes. I don't know if this was in NCAA 09 as I stuck with 08 instead.
The stadium its played in is Landshark and EA STILL has the old scoreboards up.... inexcusable really.
The band on the field is pretty cool and is a nice touch so far. Crowd's look the same as my version (08) and the opening coing toss part is still nothing impressive. So far really looks like a dressed up version of 08.
Now for some gameplay...
I like how you can call for a gameplan (aggressive, balanced, or conservative)and can actually very specific on what you want done on both sides of the ball, pretty cool.
I like the camera angle as it is a little zoomed in... and the cheerleaders are definitely better.
The new player lock feature is pretty solid also allowing you to focus in as one player (camera pans in behind you). It really is like the mode where you take your player from HS thru college, same view.
Game has been pretty fluid but I hate how you have to use the right stick to shed blockers has a D Lineman... seems so silly since you have to take your finger of the tackle button.
Tackling is much better.
I threw an interception and there is thing where you choose what play the D ran to gain back composure, no opinion on that.
The Gators O-Line seems to be unable to block Oklahoma, lol.
I like when you score a TD your team can have the cheerleaders run across with the flags. The Field Goal nets are sos imple its ridiculous they havent been in there for all these years.
Overall thoughts:
Game plays pretty well, seems like superman linebackers have been removed. The crowds still suck and the college atmopshere just isnt there for me. Why do the crowds and logos in the crowd all look so ****ty? This is the 4th NCAA on this system, no excuse for it really. So yeah the game plays well and it is a good game but still there are some things that EA really needs to do make this an elite game. Also, bring FCS teams back :lol:Big E likes this. -
I'll be glad if super linebackers are gone. -
-
Blocking is alos really much improved.. I had a clean sack and the RB came over and made a nice block on me

kinda fun. should be interesting to see what translates to madden 10.

I love the NCAA series. I cant play Madden anymore.....this games gameplay is what Madden should be, IMO.

Oh.. and the wr/te still drop everything... gay.

no instant replay sucks... I want to watch the gameplay. Sam Bradford kicks Tebow's *** in this game. A lot of penalties too.
-
spin move sucks now too...
wow... Lost in OT 24-21. LAME. Kickers suck in this game. -
Vengeful Odin, Silverphin, dolfan32323 and 2 others like this.

madden has sucked since it jumped to next gen.

I could be wrong, but we'll wait and see. Hater. :tongue2::hi5: -

I thought the game plays more fluid and is fun but I most likely won't buy it... I need FCS teams for me to make this purchase. I just look at NCAA 06 and can't justifying another version of the game.

Ultra, Clark Kent and sking29 like this.

I'm up 17-0 right now... I returned an INT and the 2nd half kickoff for TD. My offense didn't have enough time to score a TD before the end of the half. Pretty fun so far.
Not a huge fan of the close line tackle animations. But atleast blocking is solid all around. If there's a guy running after you, someone is trying to get to that guy to throw a block. I hate NCAA passing and catching, so it's no surprise i'm not a fan of that in NCAA 10.
However the option is fun. the controls on D are different from madden so I'm having a bit of trouble with them. But so far it's OK. Man to man is real solid, but zone is leaving something to be desired.
open field moves are garbage... -

Ok, played the demo. I had it on ps3 last year, but the demo I played is 360.
Likes
- Defensive line play: I actually feel engaged to the blocker and that I have a chance to work by, rather then hoping to get by with just speed. Putting hands up in the lane seems more natural
- Tackling animations are pretty slick
- Smooth feel to gameplay, very fluid (better than last year which I thought was best yet on this gen)
- Defensive back play seems more natural, nowhere near as superhuman
- Coverages seem to play out well (better AI?)
- "Strategy:" pick between aggresive, balanced, and safe
- First hit doesn't always bring you down
Dislikes:
- Short as hell: Couldn't get a feel for my offense until end of the 3rd, when I was finally able to score
- Florida seems unstoppable: On both sides they just seemed better than Oklahoma
- Running: Maybe this had to do with playing Florida, but I couldn't get a run over a yard, and guys were always in the backfield
- No instant replay: got sacked one time, no clue how the guy got in and couldn't check -
-
It seemed better than last years gameplay-wise. I'm certain Online Dynasty will be better, which is the main reason I'm getting it. -

as sad as it is, the only REAL reason to buy the new game every year is the new players. As an LSU fan, im extremely excited to play as some of the new 5 star recruits they brought in this year.Stitches likes this. -

I'll buy this like I always do, but the fact that EA didn't add Pro Tak and the enhanced presentation features from Madden 10 to NCAA 10 is a bonehead move, IMO. Almost takes the fun away from me... why not have the same features in terms of game play and presentation in both games? It's FOOTBALL.

My question is why in the demo does every tackle involve a throw down instead of a tackle?
