any news on him?

From what I read, he is the DB coach of the Bengals and has never been a DC.
Coyle was the DB coach of the Bengals and had not previously been a DC before Philbin hired him for that job with the Dolphins.
Hopefully Joseph will be better than the last DB coach the Dolphins hired from the Bengals.Kud_II and Pandarilla like this. -

He's been a DB coach in the NFL since 2005 (he was the assistant DB coach in 2005 before he was promoted).
He's been the DB coach for the 49ers, Texans, and Bengals.Onehondo likes this. -

He's probably not running the Bengals/Mike Zimmer defense. It's likely a 3-4 variant.
His influences are much more Wade Phillips and Mike Nolan. Denver wanted him before they hired Wade Phillips(presumably the run similar defenses) and when Gase interviewed with the 49ers he wanted to keep Fangio(or get Joseph) over keeping Tomsula. -
some are saying this isnt a done deal yet

Could be just trying to save the fact it leaked out already. No way it's not a done deal when the main parts of his staff are announced!
-
Can it be official if he is still with the Bengals in the playoffs?
-
In the presser, Gase said he hadn't made any hires.
-
Couldn't even get Vic Fangio? What a joke. Vance Joseph would've been great if Hue Jackson was signed. Why mix coaches? At least get coaches who have some sort of chemistry.

When the the results season after season have been down right awful, everyone has as much right to complain.Finster likes this. -

It's also why they are backtracking across the board on the Joseph leak. Tampering until they are done playing for the season. -

He is alleged by some with impeccable reputations to have been the "bag man" that delivered Kendall Bussey to Texas A/M....

Sometimes you have to wait until the shoe drops .It hasnt yet. There are playoffs ongoing. Maybe we have someone in mind that is involved in them. That would be good for us .It implies that they may be pretty good but contacting them could be interpreted as tampering.
Personally I hope we take our time. -
If Joseph is going to run a 3/4 ala Wade Phillips, how is that going work for a 4/3 DT like Suh?

Suh will flourish as a 3-4 DE. This talk of Suh being a 3-technique only is absurd.

After watching the Bungles last night I hope our DC isn't coming from there. Not disciplined or under control whatsoever.

yea i agree. the way the bungles played against the steelers.....no control. with an already young coach we need a more seasoned def coach
-
You guys realize that Vance doesn't choose the players or the scheme...he just coaches them up. The Bengals lost control, but its because they have generally been a team with a few "thug" types. No-one is going to reign that in, you take the skill and accept the attitude in that situation.
To blame that on him is insane. I know nothing about the guy, he may be a giant dog turd, but it isnt his fault Marvin Lewis is a ****ty coach who cant control his team. -

But seems a lot of logic here is strictly optimistic and by the books, do the Pats play fair? -
-
we essentially already tampered with Joseph, so I don't understand the negative comments toward my Fangio comment when we are already in the wrong to begin with. -
Well, if we do go 3-4, maybe Dion Jordan can finally start his career.
As for the Bungles, holy hell what an intense finish. That game was dark and brutal. Everybody wearing orange was losing their minds.
