NFL Draft 2009: Risers and Sliders 11/25

Connor Barwin is intriguing as an OLB in the 3-4, looks like he has played on the Bearcat Basketball team as well. Didn't our head office mention they look for guys with Basketball experience for the athleticism to play OLB?

I've been banging the Sean Smith drum for 3 months now. He's going to be a first round pick.

Barwin is in excellent shape and is a former TE for the Bearcats.

Also he is listed as an excellent special teams player. Named UC's Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a punt and recovering a fumbled punt return at USF

Big kid if his height is being reported correctly @ 6' 3" and has some long arms. Very interesting prospect if he decides to declare. I will keep my eye on him from now on.

Here's a riser for you: Arthur Jones DT Syracuse

For anyone who watched the Syracuse/ND game over the weekend, this kid was in the ND backfield all game. He had 17 tackles, numerous disruptions and a few sacks. At 6'4"/291/Sr he would probably fit well as a late round pick (6th-7th round) at DE in the 3-4. Hes quick off the ball, strong, and hustles. Hes not the most physically gifted player but man he plays hard on a bad team. Impressed the holy hell out of me as it was probably the single best performance by a DL I have seen this year

Arthur Jones/DT/Syracuse: The junior is another who shone brightly during a very dreary campaign for the Orange. He was outstanding during the team's upset victory at Notre Dame, making 15 tackles, including four tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Jones is expected to enter April's draft, where he will be a top 60 selection.

The link I never clicked on at the start of the thread :) I had been meaning to make the post about Jones but too much stuff held me up. I would be surprised if Arthur Jones went top 60 however im disappointed others are taking notice. That kid is good. Dont know if he can play nose but he might make a nice replacement for Vonnie Holliday if we decide to dump him. :up:
