Didn't know we made an offer to Jake though.

I think it is pretty likely that there isn't any serious negotiations on either player until free agency, or at least pre-season tampering season occurs.
It's also possible they aren't interested in Bush being back except for quite cheap, to the point where unless he's on the market a month after free agency starts he's not on their radar. -

The pros/cons of keeping each guy are about as even as I've ever seen in a group of FA's.

Oh I get it... bush is the second smith. I assume.

Of all the FAs I am hoping these two be brought back along with Clemons. Smith started the season good keeping top receivers like Green to under 100 yards. He has the talent

Seriously, our focus should be beating the teams in our division, the Pats especially. Long doesn't exactly help us there, not the way an elite WR, CB, or DE would. I'd rather spend that 10 Millie on a guy who can put Brady on his *** or make plays for Tannehill in the pass game. He'll, even an elite RB helps beat NE more so than a LT. Do we really need to pay 8 figures for a guy to block Ninkovich and Chandler Jones?Phins28 likes this. -
hartline is the first guy i'd sign. he's not a #1, but clearly Tannehill has developed something nice with him and with the condition the WR corps is in, i'd make him first priority. who'd have thought that sentence would ever have been typed.

Divison games make up almost 40% of your season. They are very important games and you need to win as many of them as possible. If moving your assets out of one postion to move to another to give you an advantage in division games then it would be irresponsible and foolish to not consider doing it. With that being said I hope that they bring Jake back with a reasonable contract. All things considered I think 5-6 million is reasonable. If he wants substantialy more then I think you have to move on from him and accept him as another failed pick for The Dolphins.

IMO, I think we should give him a contract with incentives based on him being healthy and on field performance.
Edit: Of course, I know it's not that simple.... -
You know for a while there Sean's value must have been at least 4 clipboards. Then he slowed down and I don't know.
-
If you wanna pay him $8M-$10M per year, I understand... but it best be a 2-3 year contract or an option to basically cut him after his first year without any dead cap penalties. I think Brandon Marshall had an option like this after his first year where we could cut him without any penalty. -
Bush-smith, that was probably my career path in the middle ages...
