Sat down to eat dinner and picked up the little laminated schedule card that comes with my season tickets. So for sh!ts and grins....
2-1
@Buffalo - W - won't be easy though.
Minnesota - W - Peterson breaks some runs, but Favre throws 3 picks.
@Denver - L - tough place to play, Jets never win there
Green Bay - L - Rodgers throws for over 300 and the Jets lose a shootout
@Detroit - W - Detroit is bad
@Cleveland - W - Hello, Eric Mangini
Houston - W - Revis back, limits Texans weapons
Cincinnati - W - Jets have their number and Carson Palmer isn't what he used to be
@New England - L - Jets sweep Pats? No way. Brady gets revenge
Miami - L - Miami gets revenge too
@Pittsburgh - L - Pittsburgh defense stifles Jets, holds them to under 200 yards
@Chicago - W - In a must win game for the Jets, Cutler throws 4 int's
Buffalo - W- Buffalo goes 0 - 16.
Final regular season record: 10 - 6
It probably won't go exactly that way, but I figure on the W's I get wrong, I'll pick up a surprise win. The W's I am not confident with: Houston and Chicago.
Have at it :tongue2:

1-15. The game against miami gets overturned as its discovered rex was sharing his bovine injections with the team.

15-1...or at least that's what this guy said
But what does he know? He wears his shirt 2 sizes too small. -
That seems like a pretty fair assessment. Same thoughts as you, Chicago and Houston could go either way.

And who says 10-6 makes the playoffs? :)

So far so good. Now they have to lose to Denver this Sunday to keep my prediction right :lol:

4-12:up:

The original prediction is on the money.
These *******s are good. damn it. -
Yeah, once I saw how they came out with all those Favre accusations the week before the game, I knew they were for real.
-
1. Revis is not Revis. The holdout killed his season. He will not play at the level he played last year for the rest of the season. And so much of Ryan's defense depends on great cover corners. Thank God they got Cromartie and that he is playing well so far, otherwise they would be totally screwed.
2. The can not put pressure on a QB without blitzing. That's a huge problem especially when you don't have 2 shut down corners. A team like the Colts will pick them apart.
3. The offensive line still can struggle on pass protection. Slauson is a rookie and at times he really struggles. Brick played very well last night, but he is capable of crapping the bed against a good pass rusher.
4. Edwards drops too many balls....usually the easy ones. I've never seen a guy make so many highlight reel catches only to follow it up with a ball that bounces off his chest. I do NOT trust that guy in a big spot.
5. Sanchez is still only 23 games into his NFL career and still throws some balls that make you scratch your head. He is getting better and I think he will be a good, but not great, QB in this league. But when pressured, he has a tendency to get rattled.
6. The defense wears down late in games (and as I already pointed out, they rely too much on the blitz). It happened last night. It happened against you guys. I saw it happen a bunch of times last year. This is NOT a great defense and it can be exposed. They were fortunate that Bad Brett chucked one to us at the end of the game, because I had no faith they were going to keep them out of FG range.
They have some work to do. They are not a championship team. I think the Colts, the Steelers and the Ravens are all better. And I think the Dolphins are just a hair behind them.
For the Jets to be a true championship team, they need better down linemen, a 100% healthy Revis and a QB with more experience. I don't see any of that happening this year. I see a playoff team that will lose in the second round (at best). -
Jets are going to destroy Denver next week with or without Mevi$. Jets are great at running the ball. Broncos are terrible at stopping it.
There's nothing more to say. It sucks that they have a lot of injuries but that only helps the Jets. I usually hope the opposite team is 100% healthy. -
Orton is having a very good year so far. 8 td's, 3 int's while completing 66% of his passes. Lloyd, Gaffney and Royal make up a pretty good receiving corp. This will be no walk in the park. The Jets struggle against the pass. Revis will not play (at least he shouldn't). The best bet for the Jets is to run the ball, control the clock, finish their drives with TD's and keep the ball out of Orton's hands.
The game is in Denver and I originally had this down as a loss. I am standing by that. The Jets are due for a letdown and Sanchez is due for a bad game. Can the Jets win? Sure. It wouldn't shock me either. But gun to my head, I think Denver wins. To say we are going to murder them is homer speak. -
How are the Jets a 3 point road favorite?! Very tempted to put money on Denver.
-
How did Brandon Lloyd go from being afraid of the ball to playing like an All-Pro?
-
2) No team has 2 shutdown corners. The Colts have not been so hot. BTW a 3-4 team is ALL ABOUT THE BLITZ!
3) Slauson is doing great. 1 bad game. Brick is solid. He has been great as well
4)Edwards has 2 Dropped. Moss has 5..btw Marshall has 3
5) No he does not
6) Are you ******ed? Not a great D? WTF??? -
the jets will go 8-8. they will beat on their remaining sched the browns, bills, and bengals
-
u guys r allowing way to many big plays, and just dont seem as intimidating as last season. u may have a solid defense, but no its not great, and its far from great. -
I'll stick with the original 10-6. -
5-1
Green Bay - L - Rodgers throws for over 300 and the Jets lose a shootout
@Detroit - W - Detroit is bad
@Cleveland - W - Hello, Eric Mangini
Houston - ? - Revis back, limits Texans weapons
@Chicago - W - In a must win game for the Jets, Cutler throws 4 int's
Buffalo - W- Buffalo goes 0 - 16.
Final regular season record: 10 - 6/11 - 5
Adjusted for the Denver game. I changed the Houston game to a toss up. So I forecast that the Jets might go 11-5 or 10-6.
I have to say that I feel better about the GB game. Having the bye week helps and seeing how the Jets faired against a predominantly passing Denver team strengthens my position. I am still not ready to call it a W though.
I still feel good about DET, CLE, BUF. I can't see them losing to any of those teams. So 2 wins against NE, MIA, CHI, GB, CIN, HOU or PIT. I think that is realistic.Frumundah Finnatic likes this. -

8th in yds allowed among teams who have played 6 games
4th in Rush ypg
What an average D. -

And 14th overall. This "teams who've played 6 games" stat is effin' nonsense. If a defense is great it stays great all season.
Miami's defense must be "elite" then, because it ranks higher overall. :rolleyes:SICK likes this. -
To me, ppg is the most important stat. Yards against is far less important. Jmho.

Meanwhile, the Jets have a great punt and allow no yards, give up a few first downs, but hold the opponent just out of FG range, forcing a punt.
This is why yards are telling.
The Dolphins special teams has been horrible this year. Blocked punts and some long kick returns have really set them back. They also had two fumbles against Minnesota near the Red Zone, one of which was inside the 5.
There are a lot more factors involved, and given how good the Jets special teams have been it's no wonder their yards/PPG don't add up as you would expect. -
Or for turnovers that give the opposing offense the ball inside the 10.
Lots of variables.
*EDIT*
**** Hardcore...beat me to it! -
I can see your point, but to me a defense's main goal is to defend the endzone, which is measured by points allowed.
I wish I could find a reference that shows opponents average starting field position. I could only find the average starting field position for each team (which the Jets are ranked 2nd in and Miami is ranked 32nd). -
-
Bro I don't care if you're the '85 Bears, you're not gunna hold them every time on such a short field.
-
It pains me to say, but the Jets impressed me in the Denver win. Granted they had a lot of help at the end. But that game is very hard to win, travelling out west on a short week against a decent team. I was impressed. But I don't think the Jets are any sort of great team. They are capable of losing any sunday and almost did the past two.(well, past sunday and monday).
