Discuss it all here and post your predictions before Saturday for round one! The official playoff schedule should be released within the next hour.
-
Predictions:
Cleveland over Detroit 4-0.
Boston over Chicago 4-2.
Orlando over Philadelphia 4-1.
Miami over Atlanta 4-3.
Los Angeles over Utah 4-2.
Denver over New Orleans 4-2.
Dallas over San Antonio 4-3.
Portland over Houston 4-2. -
(1) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (8) Detroit Pistons
Game 1: Cleveland
They might sweep, Detroit only beat them once this year.
(2) Boston Celtics vs. (7) Chicago Bulls
Game 1: Boston
Garnett is supposed to be back this weekend, so don't look for the Bulls to get very far with them.
(3) Orlando Magic vs. (6) Philadelphia 76ers
Game 1: Orlando :woot:
We swept the 76'ers this year and might lose one while Turkoglu and Rashard get back into it.
(4) Atlanta Hawks vs. (5) Miami Heat
Game 1: Miami
Miami's lost to Atlanta 3 times this year but last time the starters didn't play. It'll be a good series but I think the Heat will win out.
Western Conference Round One
(1) Los Angeles Lakers vs. (8) Utah Jazz
Game 1: Lakers
If the Lakers don't make it to the Finals again I'll be surprised.
(2) Denver Nuggets vs. (7) New Orleans Hornets
Game 1: Denver
Don't know much about either team
(3) San Antonio Spurs vs. (6) Dallas Mavericks
Game 1: Spurs
They won 2 and lost 2 and I hope they knock the Mavs out. That'll be a good instate rivalry to watch.
(4) Portland Trail Blazers vs. (5) Houston Rockets
Game 1: Portland
Again, don't know much about either team

Wow, 'da Bulls won the first one in Boston, didn't see that one coming.
-
Well I got to this thread a little late but I'm gonna go ahead and predict the Eastern Conf. 1st round series winners.
Cleveland over Detroit 4-2
Chicago over Boston 4-3 (I was picking Chicago even before today's game just cuz KG is out)
Orlando over Philly 4-1 (sorry TheAnswer385 but Philly has no shot)
Atlanta over Miami 4-3
West Coast looks like this:
Lakers over Utah 4-1
Hornets 4-3 over Nuggets just cuz I sense a upset coming
S.A. over Dallas 4-2

derrick rose will be special.
-
more like the teenage Bulls.
nice to see Boston get every god damn call down the stretch..and still.....lose.Phins28, High Definition and Regan21286 like this. -
why is the next game not on till 5?
-
hey Felix,....did you hear Van Gundy take a dump all over your team?
He was way overboard ripping the Blazers. -
However this series goes, I have to give Vinny Del Negro props. -
-
-
result? Doc Rivers peaked out over the huddle and saw Rose still in and ran a fake hand off with Pierce and Rondo and had Rondo drive hard on Rose.....easy foul. Rose...gone.... 2 shots.
I am just some guy sitting in my living room...and I saw that...why didn't Vinny? -
-
I cannot wait to watch the Blazers Show tonight! They've become my favorite team to watch lately.
I am hoping to see Rudy go off... -
Portland is the team i'm rooting for from the west with pauls hornets 2nd.
As for the mavs game it continues to amaze me how quick tony parker is and how easily he gets to the rim. Brandon bass looks good also -
If football is like chess, then basketball is like speed chess. Change of possession after every play just like chess. And you have to be able to counter your opponents offense while picking apart their defense at the same time. In football the head coach can focus solely on offense or defense for longer periods of time, and even has groups of assistants to help brainstorm for play calling ideas on the fly. Being a successful basketball head coach is probably one of the highest coaching achievements attainable in the coaching realm. My favorite coaches of alltime are Phil Jackson, and Bill Parcells. I'd put Jackson ahead of Parcells, and not because he won more championship, but because I think his job is harder. To all the people who say Jackson had Jordan and Kobe; I say that Jackson didn't have them, they had Jackson. ;)
My predictions:
West Finals
MAVS vs LAKERS (Lakers WIN 4-1)
East Finals
CAVS vs MAGIC (Cavs WIN 4-3)
NBA Finals
LAKERS vs CAVS (Lakers WIN 4-2) -
I hope to God that the Portland fans were not boo-ing Roy when he got up injured.
-
I think they wanted a foul on the scramble for the ball. They've been *****ing and whining for everything all night.
-
LaMarcus Aldridge might be the softest (extremely talented) big man that I've ever seen in my life.
But nothing sucks more than having to listen to this woman (no offense) commentator. Jesus Christ! I'm going insane. -
