Time 4:15 pm
Place Sun Life Stadium
Channel CBS
Announcers: Dan Dierdorf, Greg Gumbel
Storyline:
Two similar teams, both are 4-5 after hot starts
SD has a good offense, porous D, good ST's unit. Miami has a good D, decent O, poor ST's. Convention wisdom is "Miami needs to establish the run!"
Conventional wisdom is also wrong, Chargers D is 20th vs the Run 28th vs the pass, probably better to use the pass to set up the run.
After the embarrassing loss to Tampa last week, Dolphins need this win not only to gain some momentum but to keep playoff hopes moving forward.
In a bit of potential bad news for us:
Would have to think Garner would move to Center, with Danny Watkins coming in at LG...let us hope Pouncey can play today

I would not describe Miami's defense as "good". I'm expecting, if Miami comes to play that is, a high-scoring game.
What's the over/under on the crowd today? 45,000? I saw that friendly soccer match drew over 71,000. -
Adam Schefter just reported on Sports Center that Mike Pouncey is OUT today. Ryan Tannehill...good luck. Miami did promote Sam Brenner from the PS to replace Will Yeatman. For the love of all things holy, I hope they give Dallas Thomas a shot at LG because I'd assume they'll move Garner to C.
-
Like we needed another oline out.
I'll be out all day watching the games, so GO PHINS! -
Miami is most definitely a futbol town. -
Arkin is also an option. -
The fact Miami has no quality backup to play center is disturbing.
Our offense is going to do nothing today. Hope you gents win your fantasy games today because reality is going to be REAL ugly. -
Mike Pouncey OUT. I think Sam Brenner will take his spot.
Ryan Tannehill in the locker room:
-
RT is going to have to move early and often.
Let's see that vaunted athleticism we're always hearing about -
-
We lose this game I believe the rest of the year is going to be very ugly!
-
And now Jeff Irelands idea of fixing our offensive line:
Is going to finally reach its boiling point. I have a missed call from a 305 number, waiting on voice mail now....most likely an offer to play center today. We'll see.Rocky Raccoon, RickyBobby and gilv13 like this. -

Dan Dierdorf????
So I get to watch the game with the sound off.RGF, Ophinerated, PhinsRDbest and 3 others like this. -
Let's put on our thinking caps, what will happen:
A) Sherman realizes the offensive line is leaky and moves THill out of the pocket
B)Sherman then decides to "Establish the running game"
C) Sherman makes no adjustments for the offensive line being decimated -
-
-
To me, more than any other factor, Coaching and Scheme will have to win this game.
Sherman/Coyle/Rizzi cannot just do what they have been doing and expect to win the game.P h i N s A N i T y likes this. -

Well all, I'll say it now, "Go Dolphins!". The weather gods weren't kind to Cincinnati as apparently some kind of midwestern hurricane is about do descend upon the city, with tornado warnings for tonight. In November. I'll try and post my weekly review of the game as soon as I can.
-
Heard Brenner would play C, to me that just seems so doubtful, Garner would make a hell of alot more sense and Watkins or Thomas filling in at LG, C makes line calls for example -
-
Without Pouncey, today's starting lineup might be the worst offensive line assembled NFL history. I am just hoping Tanny doesn't sustain a serious injury. I am bracing for a 20 point loss.

Normally I leave for the game about four hours before kickoff because of the traffic and to enjoy some tailgating outside the stadium. Because I'm not expecting the crowds today to be much over 40,000, I'm not leaving until around 1:00 pm to drive to the stadium today. I have spoken to several friends who are season ticket holders and they have told me that they aren't going to the game today because they are fed up. I'm fed up too, but since I will be moving out of South Florida after this season is over, I am going today because these next few home games will probably be the last games I will attend in South Florida.
I hope I am wrong and we have a large crowd today but I just think that the apathy toward this team has grown so great in South Florida, fans will find other things to do today instead of attending the game. Hopefully this will be the last year this team continues to play mediocre football and they will get a staff in here next year that will be capable of once again bringing exciting football back to the fans of the Dolphins.
I may not be in the stands to see it after this year, but I will have my TV on in Hawaii and watching all the Dolphin games in the early morning next year. -
Vegas doesn't think Pouncey is worth much. The line has only moved half a point.
The Chargers are in the bottom half of the league in Sacks with 22 on the year.
The Chargers give up 4.8 ypc. They're pretty bad against the pass as well. I don't have faith in Sherman taking advantage though.
I'll be in Miami next week for the game. I hope they can win today so next weeks game means something.GreysonWinfield, SICK and padre31 like this. -
Hmm, thought I'd start the GameDay thread, and as a slump buster was thinking about not havin any booze...I may rethink that position about 3 pm or so..
Would dearly love to see Specials round back into top 10 form, we can really use it in this one.RoninFin4 likes this. -
Chargers are missing 3 of their starting linebackers, so there aren't many excuses. Not that there should be, we already know the OL blows with or without the starters.
-
So we are fielding a line where a guy we picked up 2 weeks ago is the best player, smh
-
Does anyone know who is takin Pouncey's place? I really think Garner is a much better option and Watkins in at LG, or hell, even Thomas
