Cincy is still having nightmares about the walk-off safety. I think Wake feasts on them tomorrow.

 

Unleash Suh and Wake on Red Ryder and we might have a chance. I'd like to see our offense come out with a little trickery and have some fun. Flea flicker or reverse pass or something to catch them off guard.

 

Good write-up! I agree with most of your points. Nonetheless, the way this team showed up against the Browns gave me little indication they would, could or should beat the Bengals in Cinci tomorrow. I'm hoping they surprise me.

 

IF...

The defense can stop the run (where have you been "D"?)...
The defense can stop Cincy from converting 3rd and long situations...
The offense can find its running game...

Miami CAN win this game, but based on what I've seen thus far this season...

Opposing offenses have run the ball right up the gut as if the defense wasn't on the field
The defense will get opposing offenses in 3rd and long, giving us a glimmer of hope, only to let them rip a 15+ yard completion for a fresh set of downs
Our running game...well, WHAT running game?

I'm hopeful that things are slowly beginning to come into focus for first year head coach Adam Gase and the Dolphins but I think on a short week going into Cincinnati...we're going to be heartbroken yet again.

 

Come on man....you been watching football for a long long time. The Phins rarely play two games back to back that look god awful. Every week is a new week in the NFL. We beat the Browns because of big plays...which has been lacking from our team for quite awhile. Now we just gotta get back to those stick moving short to intermediate things that we do so well....

 

Were going to win this game because the locker room after the Browns game was horrible. You would have thought we lost that game. The coach was given the game ball for his first win..and still he was pissed at how the game played out.

This isnt a team that wants to accept mediocrity. Now they just have to work to get past it. We win tonight because our team wants it more.

 

Tannehill making no bad decisions, offensive line growing a pair on run plays, more press coverage, and linebackers minding their gap assignments instead of freelancing and we have a shot.

Ok, if I have to find the reason for hope its that Gase was pissed at the players' performance against the Browns and is hell bent on raising our standard of play.

Today I get to see how effective he is when he is hell bent on something.

I took Miami +7.5 tonight. We tend to always play Cincy well, so that alone has me feeling good.

I'm pretty upset because it's now up to +8, but whatever.

We just need to capitalize on our RZ opportunities with TDs, as well as limit the 3 and outs.
We need to get some pressure on Dalton, as well as get off the field on 3rd downs.
A + on the turnover margin would be great too.

 

So many injuries for us right now, but like others said it'll be interesting to see what the next man up guys do tonight. That sad, I'm not expecting much.

I'm not sure only 3 days to prepare for a game is great way to evaluate that.

For me, the next 4 home games will really show us something.

I took Miami +7.5, which is now +8.

Dallas Thomas is starting tonight, it sounds like. I don't think any 'sharp' is going to find Miami an attractive bet with that knowledge.

 

Discussed the Phins today with a friend here in LA who is also a fan. Going through the schedule, and what I feel it would say about this team if they win tonight versus lose tonight... I feel like a loss tonight points us towards a 6-10 season, but a win points us to a 9-7 season, for various reasons.

I know it's 'just one game', but it's early and we are still learning who this team is. What we see tonight will fill in a lot of blanks for us.

 

I agree. If we just stomp them, think Texans last year, that will have me thinking playoffs.

 

Agree man. I think a win would catapult us to our home slate - an early season defining win for sure. However, it would be the most Dolphins-y thing to win tonight, then lose to the Titans, haha.

But taking away the instinctual Dolphins pessimism I have to fight sometimes, I agree. This could be a really big win for us.

I think the only way the current game affects future games is over injuries. I don't think a win or loss here points us towards winning or losing other games.
