Two teams at the crossroads of their seasons, the Raiders are coming off of a 35-3 spanking by the Stealers, the Dolphins a 16-0 loss at home. -Key players: Darren McFadden is having a breakout season with over 1,000 total yds but was a non factor vs the Steelers. Chad Henne will have his injured knee tested by a solid Raiders defensive line that features 3 players with 5 sacks.
I believe were + 3, not - 3. Anyway, this should be an exciting game. Curious to see if Henne is healthy enough to start and if he`s more motivated than usual. This might not sit well with some posters here but offensive play # 1 will be : Wildcat formation, Brown gets the snap and hands off to Ricky who`s in motion. Ricky flips the ball to Henne, who was lined up wide. Henne hits Hartline on a slant for huge yardage. Think this will keep the Raiders D guessing? First play out of the gate. I like it.
Henne has a huge brace on his knee dude? Chances are good he is not lining up anywhere but under center or in the shotgun.
Oh no, Henning flu is spreading!!!!! Alright, now they are down to maybe trying to dropping a Safety in at Cb, now who will throw the ball against: -annual all pro cb? -3 guys trying to play cb across from him? Hmm...
would rather of had Cambell starting, Ski can make plays, and extend plays, however his arm is weak, our corners on defense need to win this game.
Can't wait until tomorrow. I'll be at the game, which is a rare treat for a Bay Area native like myself.
Stoked...DC Market gets Mia vs. Oak since both WAS and BAL play on Fox station! Woot! nice BDay present a day later for sure!
Although today was pretty rainy out here tomorrows forecast is for no rain. I'd also rather see Campbell in there over Gradkowski. Since Marshall is out hopefully we get to see Bess and Hartline step up.
Stealers . Let's do this guys. If I have to I'm putting on a jock strap and going out there to not lose to the Raiders.
Iam gonna watch 2 players and 2 players only, with the future on my mind...Chad Henne and Ronnie Brown....WTF is wrong with that dude.....step up like a man son...Just like you told everyone..Ive been isolating him on route running over the year...Lets just say there are reasons why this dude does not get the reps will all want him too...cant run a route to save his life...slow, not sharp..nothing sudden coming from him, poor angles, non decisive...Ricky williams...ditto..These 2 piss me off..somebody needs to break up their little bromance and tell them the honeymoon is over..freekin step up your damn game, or say hello to Mark Ingram.
Dude's accentuation of every last word is annoying as hell. It's like he feels his every sentence carries so much weight.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fl-miami-dolphins-tony-sparano-qa-1126,0,4762558.story It has always been something of a mystery to me why Brian Hartline is not a kick returner as his skill set would dovetail nicely in that role, not that Nolan Carroll is doing a bad job, in fact Carroll's 25.5 ypa is higher than Ted Ginn's, but open field running would seem to me to be the key skill in handling kick offs. Sparano sounds confident in the two Rook UDFA's Moore and Wallace, to bad lil beast Wallace has a nicked up knee as he could do a decent Marshall imitation, the good news is Marlon Moore is probably the Wr with the most raw speed and quickness he can take a drag route upfield effectively. And Hopefully, this is the game where DBess turns his routes up the seam, that caught the Stealers completely off guard in 09 and could work well today.
open prediction: our defense will keep us in the game & our offense will not be able to close the deal, even against a third rate Raider defensive unit hope I'm wrong
You mean the 11th ranked Raider defense? You mean the 3rd ranked defense against the pass? They are ranked 25th against the run. If we don't come out with a plan to play smash mouth running the ball, Henning has lost it.
Imho NJ, the Raiders "3rd ranked pass defense" is similar to our high ranking in pass defense in 07, teams simply don't pass the ball on them because they don't have to, when they are talking about Stanford Routt and Mike Huff trying to play Corner, and Ro McClain a rook MLB who is kinda slow, passing the ball is not the end of the world on these guys even if you let Nnamdi take away a qtr of the field.
The Raiders defense is on a par with us, they are pretty good. But you can run on them which will be a problem because Henning does not run the ball.
I would like to see him return punts, but not kickoffs, I think he would get knocked the fu$# out...his frame is slight, and his stride keeps him open for hits.
Have you watched Nolan Carroll return kick offs? That boy is going to get knocked out as that straight up and down style of running just allows guys to line them ala Marion Barber..
Same thing for me. I just saw that it was at 4. It's already been 10 days since Miami last played. I need some Dolphins football.
I have, and ive said to you before, that guy is not the guy we want for next year.. Did anyone just see Merill hodge's tie on espn....that was freakin hilarious..lol....where the hell do these guys shop....Key is the only guy that knows how to dress on that whole network.. I saw adam shefter the other day looking like he was strait up pimpin son.
Well, needless to say this is a must win for us, but keep in mind that we still have games left with the Pats and Jets, and they play each other, so one team will be 10-2 the other 9-3, if we win the head to head matchup vs either one, they go to 4 losses. Which means we need help from one other team, preferrably in the AFC, the Pats losing to Green Bay would also be really helpful. Hmm, we are not as dead as I thought we might be. Go phins!!!!!
