Lol holy hell Vinny I know you're venting but it wasnt like the Rams held a gun to Jakes head and forced him to sign.

 

They "stole" a coach from us with a slightly above .500 record. They overpaid a TE who is all potential and no performance. And they took an overpriced broken down Jake Long off our hands.

They can keep Fisher. 6 winning records in 17 full seasons? Whatever. I'd rather have a coach whose success meant something better than a 1-in-3 shot at breaking .500.

P.S. I know mortals shouldn't be compared to Shula, but it took him 6 full seasons to have 6 winning records. He had 6 NON winning records in 33 seasons.

That said, I'm 100% certain Fisher will go into the Hall of Fame one day. I have no idea why, but there are a lot of things I don't know.

At least with their coach's track record and their two very strong divisional opponents, the Rams' ceiling is pretty much 3rd in the division every year. There's solace in that.

 

You can be upset with Jake for choosing St. Louis or Jeff Ireland for not offering Jake what you would've deemed to be fair.

You can't, however, be upset with St. Louis for trying to improve.

Jake Long has a chronic knee and there isn't a big difference between Keller and Cook so they can shove them up their asses. Philbin also embarrassed and out coached Fisher last year...so Fisher can shove it up his *** too.

 

Probably not the best time for me to post as an evil Rams fan but you guy won by 3 in a game where our rookie kicker who had missed 0 FGs prior to that missed 2 that he normally makes. It was a good battle though and you guys earned the W. I am happy we got Long, Bradford has had such terrible protection throughout his career.

That said, you guys got the free agent that I wanted the most...Mike Wallace. So it's not all bad. :up:

You're welcome. Philbin seems like a very talented coach, you guys made a great decision to hire him. And the Rams got something we've need for awhile, a veteran and steady hand that can clean up the mess of an organization left by Georgia Frontiere. Win-win for both sides.

 

As a Buckeye fan and a Dolphin fan, I have to tell you (good naturedly) that Jake can't carry Orlando Pace's jock, but he's still better than most. I think you'll be happy as long as he stays healthy. I'm just hoping this team doesn't miss him as much as I suspect.

 

Long choose the Rams, good for them. Sure we turn our attention to another player. That's a lot of coin for a player who been injured the last two seasons.

 

you should hate our GM, he literally cost us every time. with Ireland out of the picture, Fisher chooses Miami. and Ireland got outbid by the Rams for both Cook and Long when we have WAY more cap space than them

 

We aren't likely to go for a tackle at all. Even in the worst-case scenario that Miami did go after a tackle that just means they freed up 8m to sign another FA. A pass rusher like Dumervil would be an example.

 

Don't you think they might be as likely to sign a RT? I would think the team might want to use their cap flexibility to keep their draft options open. I guess we'll see. I just hope they don't overdraft somebody out of need.

naw actually I would've been fine with it, anything to keep Martin away from Tannehill's blind side. all this Long bashing is hilarious to me, how different the reactions would be if news broke tonight that we re-signed him to this exact same deal, everyone would support the move and put their faith in Long to return to his old dominant form....but instead he picks STL and now he's overrated, overpaid, won't see the end of this deal, we're better off, bla bla bla.....lol uh ok, i guess.
