well, time for more punishment and torture.
TN hopefully will not have Mariota. What's surprising is they didn't run the ball effectively and maybe that had to do with daring Cassell to throw, but Im not sure when Mariota got hurt. Our run d has been real decent, but teams will adjust. Last year they demoralized us with the run.
Watson looked like a stud, LaMar Miller ran well and caught out the backfield and Hopkins had a monster game. In the past I would equate this to Cutler, Ajayi and Parker, but my only question is, will we be shut out again?

I hope they do have Mariotta and everyone else. What I hope is that our team raises its level of play enough to beat the Titans' best. I have my doubts, but that is my mentality and it should be the Dolphins'.

What's the point of a game thread, a week away from the game? Especially when all news leading up to the game will likely also have it's own thread?
As for the Titans, they're a better team than us IMO. Our offense is having difficulties obviously, and the Titan's D has been playing well up until Sunday. If our offense can get clicking, and there's no Mariotta, we've got a chance. I'm not worried much about our D, it's the O that's the problem.aesop, P h i N s A N i T y, ChrisKo and 1 other person like this. -

Anyway......the Dolphins will beat the Titans Sunday. Book it. Do I have the utmost confidence in this team as a whole ? No. But they will win and lure us back in until the next fiasco. Its In the franchises script.

After watching Cutlers press conference, he has, what I like to call, dead eyes. As you watch him, his eyes don't have that sparkle you would expect of some one who has hope, any hope whatsoever. There is none. We're doomed. Big loss on it's way.

Tennessee “Teen Titans” - 1 -
That's an interesting scoreline actually. It would be the first time in NFL history where a team scored only 1 point. And that 1 point (a safety after an extra point is blocked) would prevent us from tying the all-time Dolphins record for points scored in a game: 55-14 against St. Louis in 1977.
That 1 point would also prevent us from beating our own shutout record: 52-0 in 1972 against the Pats (which is tied for 4th all-time in shutout point differentials.. two teams had a 59-0 and one team had a 58-0). However, that 1 point would not prevent us from having the largest point differential in a Dolphins win at 53 points (obviously we all remember that 62-7 loss against the Jags in the 1999 playoffs.. so it's not the largest ever point differential).CashInFist and danmarino like this. -
can you imagine this board if Miami wins and wins big and Cutler has a phenom day?
-
This being our first home game- against a team that gave up 57 points last week- and the Titans starting QB in all likelihood either out or possibly starting with a hamstring injury- and we`re STILL underdogs !!!!! If this don't fire up their asses and play with a chip on their shoulder to perform better nothing will.

what's the latest on Mariota?

Ok Coach Gase! Time to figure your %$@# out.
Cut the cute stuff. The read option keeper & wildcat are good for a few yards....so save that for a crucial short yardage play, not first down!
The Landry pass and everything else needs to be scrapped.
Our offense should be a steady dose of Ajayi,Landry,Drake/Williams... keep it simple, find a rhythm. The perimeter throws will develop from there. Gase hasn't used that Demarius screen with Parker enough either. Did it plenty with Alshon. J.Thomas looks older, slower than A.Gates.
We need to beat Tennessee at their own game, regardless of how things play out. Ajayi should get 20 touches, and it would be nice to see another 15 rushes spread out amongst the pack. -
Here's to hoping that home pride has our two lines absolutely dominating the opposition and making the Titans look like Smurfs.
I hope for the best from Cutler but this season's success is going to come from great line play, on both sides of the field. If they can figure that out then that might be the greatest possible outcome to take forward into next year. :)
Still, that's a long way off. Right now it's our first home game. Go Dolphins!
Let's see some super pod action! -
Hope springs eternal. But the Jets' and Saints' D's made us look hapless. What's the difference between helpless and hapless? I don't really know.
-
I love that Gase is making all these changes on D when the O is the problem.
Does Gase admit he was wrong about Julius Thomas and play him far less today or does he obstinately allow JT to continue stalling out drives?
We shall see.Last edited: Oct 8, 2017 -
