1. Face it no matter how much you say our line was most improved it was Ronnie that was most improved. The Line still plain sucks compared to all lines in the NFL. We need to beef that Oline up to the size of Dallas's old emmit days or trim them down the way Shanahan does it. The oline was decent at letting a RB go forwards, decent, not half bad but certainly not good. We need to have an oline that can pass block too, which for some reason this one cannot (its strange usually pass blocking is easier)
I don't see any O-lineman worth the 1st overall so you still have to take the best overall if you cant move down. If we allow the jets or pats to get to Mcfadden then we need to fold the team up and move it to arena 2
Finally im tired of the people that say beck has a future to be great. Beck made a choice, his choice was not to be devoted 100% to football, that doesn't make him a bad person, just not an NFL QB. I want my QB to be completely void of any interests other then breaking all of farves records. Beck is young, and people say you cant throw them in like that, well we did with Dan. I want a Dan Marino, I want a Manning, I want Montana and i want Elway, I dont want a serviceable QB, i want a legend. Beck isnt it.

LMAO!!
Ok. First of all, our d-line is way worse off than our offensive line. If we don't go D first in the draft, I'm gonna be pissed. Secondly, you're never going to get another Dan Marino. There isn't a guy out there that is the next Dan Marino. Beck could be good. He could be really good. Manning wasn't good his first year. Brady didn't even start his first year. Brees wasn't that good his first couple years. It's not normal for a quarterback to come out and be really good...it takes having a really good team around them. No QB is going to come out of college and light up the scoreboard with the team we have right now.
On a side note, why do people insist on making posts about things that have been discussed ad naseum on these boards? I mean, seriously, we've had so many threads about Beck, and so many people have shown why it's ******ed to think that a quarterback is going to be great right out of the gates... -
B). What makes you think that Beck made a choice not be devoted 100% to football. Everybody in the locker room says he is a film junky and there stories around the time he was drafted stating how he would study his playbook... while grocery shopping.
C). Funny you mention names like Elway, Favre, Manning and Marino.
John Elway, in his first year, threw for 7 TD's and 14 Interceptions with a glorious 47.5% accuracy and 54.9 passer rating.
Brett Favre threw 39 interceptions his first year.
Manning... Well, everybody can tell you about Manning's rookie season.
Only Marino is the exception.
I am so glad you're not a GM. You'd throw half of these legends under the bus their first they are not performing. -
Next Our oline is crap. Our dline sucks but lets try and give whatever qb we have some time. Our Oline cant block a 3 man rush on a passing down. We need to fix that. This is a project Fixing the oline comes before the dline IMO -
Second of all, Dorsey so far (and probably Ghoulston) is the BPA on defense and is, by a lot of peoples consensus worth number one. Not to say that McFadden isn't, but when you have to choose between adding a running back to a corps that already has Brown, Chatman, and Booker or upgrade a defensive line that let's more running backs have their way with them than a promiscuous high school cheerleader, the choice is obvious. -

Plus we already have three pretty good/great linemen in Satele, Carey, and Hadnot. I say we address right tackle in the draft and let Mormino compete with Liwienski next year. -
Im not a fan of beck but i bet he would play a lot better if he dint have a DT in his face every play -
Shelton and Liwienski/Lekkerkerker, however, would be backups at best on New England's line. -
how about this, do we have any players on the team that compare to sims or webb. why is it so difficult to want great instead of serviceable. -
