“Ollie Gordon: ‘Hafley definitely tried to connect with us more’

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II spoke with Terron Armstead about head coach Jeff Hafley and the second-year runner’s “welcome to the NFL” moments.

The Miami Dolphins reset the franchise this season, from the front office through the coaching staff and onto the roster. The reset has brought with it learning curves, struggles, and growing pains. The team started the season 0-5, with talk that they could be the first team to finish a season 0-17. Last Sunday, they ended that talk with a solid win over the New York Jets, with every aspect of the team working together and showing their potential.

Running back Ollie Gordon II, a second-year player, started the year as a depth player but has thrust himself into a starring role following an injury to De’Von Achane. Earlier this year, he sat down with former Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead on “The Set with Terron Armstead” podcast, and discussed the situation with the team. Released this week, the discussion included a comparison of first-year head coach Jeff Hafley and former head coach Mike McDaniel.

“Haf has definitely tried to connect with us”

Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.

What is that supposed to even mean? I thought so the players loved McDaniel cause he was one of them? I never of any players complaining that McDaniel didn't try to "connect" with them.

I agree, it's kind of frustrating when an entire article is based on an 8-word generic statement that doesn't have anything to do with McDaniel.

Maybe it's just a terrible quote? Maybe it's AI content on a really bad day? There's just not much to take from that.

Winning football games at any level comes down to winning in the trenches.
