Says Henne is top 15 QB, but unless you have a top 8 QB you can't expect to win the SB.

I can't think of anything more torturing than listening to those two talk to each other.

have to say, not even thinking about winning a superbowl, although that's always a nice thought. right now we just need a team good enough to win a damn playoff game. it's easy to criticize Henne, it's harder to come up with a reasonable solution to replace him. if Henne progresses to #15 and we can beef up our offense we can win playoff games. Hell, Jets did it with Sanchez, who sucks ***.
people need to realize: there are no top 5 QB options available in the near future to carry this team to a superbowl. even if you draft one, it's a few years for them to mature. our defense may look very different by then. -
He meant Henne is top 15 of the current second year starters at QB in the NFL.

If Henne is a top 15 QB, there are 17 terrible QB's starting in this league.

To win the Super Bowl you don't need a top 5 QB. If Henne can become just an average, top 15 QB, I will be exicted. With the way our defense is playing, and if they keep it up, we would be legitimate SB contenders. History shows us that plenty of average, game managing QB's have won the Super Bowl. -
It's possible to win a flukey SB without a top 10 QB, but you need alot of other stuff to go right. Your margin for error is alot smaller. -

Also see Baltimore and TB. The defenses stayed great for years after those Super Bowls yet the etams never got back. Mostly it was about their QB's. Brad Johnson and Dilfer winning a SB is a fluke. -
Mark Rypien is not winning a SB in today's NFL. -

No, history shows us that defense is the key factor to winning a Super Bowl. -

The QB position may be the most important. if the QB is good, he covers other sins on the team. But, it’s also true that a lot of the QB’s strengths are interwoven into the team strengths and hard to separate.
There is just no getting around the fact that it's a myth to think that you need a great QB to win the Super Bowl, or even multiple Super Bowls. -
You're skirting the issue. ;) -
And a team not returning doesn't make them a fluke. Especially given injuries and fa moves.dolfan22 likes this. -
And I understand why Dolphin fans more than other fanbases want to downgrade a QB's importnace. We had one of the best of all time but so ineptly built the rest of the etam around him that we wasted his greatness. We then started wandering in the desert with coach after coach telling us that a QB wasn't that important that we started to believe it. I believed it to for awhile. I thought fiedler could win a SB. I was wrong. And I won't be making that mistake again. -
Actually, New England's defense that year gave up an average of 17 points a game. Their offense scored an average of 38 points per game.
In the Super Bowl, their defense gave up...that's right....17 points. However, their offense only scored 14.
The Giants defense won that game by putting pressure on Brady. Brady didn't have 30 seconds in the pocket and folded as he always does under pressure. If anything the Patriots offense lost that game. However, IMO, the Giants defense won it.and GMJohnson like this. -
