I figured it had to be his mouth and his attitude that got him thrown out the door....no way two different head coaches would use him sparingly otherwise. He gave us the Miracle in Miami so I'll always wish him luck in his career, but good riddance to the diva stuff.

There was some criticism of the trade, but I had heard he'd been requesting one for a quite awhile. I liked his talent, but once a player wants out he's not going to be part of your rebuild or help in establishing your culture. Sometimes you just have to move on and it's best for everyone.

I long for the days where players were SELFLESS and put the TEAM ahead of their own personal glory. Call me old fashioned and attribute it to my days in the Army, but when you’re part of a team you have to believe in something bigger than yourselfPhil Hutchings likes this. -

I still think Drake was completely under utilized during his time here. I'm not mad that we traded him, but more relieved that he will finally get an opportunity to shine with Arizona.

Assuming this is a true story then I understand why they moved him on. And if this is indicative of his attitude in general it goes a long way to explaining the way both staffs underutilized Drake.
Regardless, I wish him well and hope he has success in the league.

I think his true value was somewhere between Dion Lewis and James White. I think the system in Zona will help him reach his potential.
Still glad we traded him because he was not coming back.Irishman likes this. -
He wasn't coming back because over his first couple seasons he's been getting 5 carries a game. That's no good for getting a better contract. So, again, this idea that we were lucky to get anything for him because he was leaving, is BS. We shouldn't have had to get anything for him. He should have been properly used so that he wouldn't want to go somewhere else.
