We have Henne, #15 rated in the NFL, and Thiggy at QB.
We have Incognito, Jerry, Garner, and Berger on the interior OL
We have Hilliard and Sheets at RB.
We have Crowder and Edds at ILB
We have Misi at OLB
We have Clemons at FS
Who is "The Weakest Link" on this team in need of an upgrade?

runningback by far.

Crowder sucks and needs to be replaced..... That and the horribly unloyal fanbase could use an upgrade too.

QB and RB

How many big plays you see in those fraudulent stats of yours? :wink2: -

If he was blinfolded I'd understand but it's his bad awareness.
Stop making excuses for the guy. He is an improviser with a big motor and no talent. -
-
Crowder is slightly above mediocre, IMO. but he is not anywhere close to our weakest link.
RB is our weakest link, and it's not even close.
2nd weakest link is our 5th starter on the Oline
QB is third place. We upgrade the 1st two and Henne moves up a few spots on the ratings list -
For whatever it's worth, Crowder did grade out top ten vs the run on PFF, horrible everywhere else. I did see a difference in our team playing the run with him there.
I'm thinking that with Edds playing the pass, he will be good to keep. We have so many other needs. -
I'm happy with Incognito, think Jerry will surprise, and Garner did play well before the injury. -
I would say QB and OL. Henne hasnt showed enough for him to go into training camp unchalleged. More so, I cannot really say that the RB position is a weak link per say. Did Ronnie and Ricky perform well last year? No. But can we really blame them for that? Our offense last year was nothing to write home about, our playcalling was so horrible and predictable that I am pretty sure that the defensive gameplan against us was simply "play the run", and our interior three linemen wasn't really making much of a push up the middle.

Improvising has always been his problem. Even Sparano addressed it before the 2009 season and said they would try to fix it but they never have.
My point is no matter your role you should make more plays than he has in six years. If you dispute that you are just lying to yourself and making excuses for the player. -

1) Your unloyal if you question whether or not Chad Henne is a guy that can lead this team to success.
2) But you ARE loyal if you go around saying the WR, TE, OC, HC, QB Coach, etc. suck?
Did I get that right?MonstBlitz, Sceeto, RGF and 1 other person like this.

If his job was run into guards and fullbacks, we could just throw a Dlineman out there to play ILB. Or a cow.
Yes, thats how guys like Crowder and Akin Ayodele get jobs in this league. Quicker than a DLineman, but big enough and willing to be a battering ram. Crowders job is to keep guards off of Dansby, so Dansby can make plays.
Never! That is a strong word. So he is told not to make plays LOL.
Did you know that both the starting ILB's for the 2009 Denver Broncos( A Nolan coached defense I might add) each had 3-1/2 sacks.
Never huh? :wink2:
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
I would say he still is the weakest link on the defense, even though he does those responsibilities average..at best.
what other position?, misi?, no way..clemons, nope, we have good upside there and some consistency brewing, and some serious athleticism.
Let me put it this way. There was one team in the entire NFL that had a lower yards per carry than us last year. That is problem #1.
All that tells me is that we have no depth at ILB either. Doesn't tell me that Crowder is any good. The guy is purely lucky that he's decent enough in run stopping (his only average ability) to avoid a team putting much effort into replacing him. Especially now that his position is a 2 down spot. Unless you count the fact he was moved to the 2nd spot after the team threw HUGE money at Dansby to replace him as the main ILB.
I don't see the team working at it this year either because they have a draft pick invested in A.J. Edds who I don't see being ready to take over for Crowder until he can spend a full year showing he's healthy and has worked his way to being a solid run stopper as right now Edds skills are mainly in coverage.
At least we have only had just under 2 seasons of Henne. We've had the equivalent of Henne at ILB for 6 years with Crowder. So you should be able to understand the frustrations about him. Henne just plays a much much much more important and magnified position. Even then Henne isn't as bad at his position as Crowder is.
Chad Henne is a young QB who has been developed improperly and Brandon Marshall is supposed to be a top 5 wideout in this league. You tell me which one should get more heat when they don't perform. You have to weigh all the variables. Comparing my opinion on Marshall and Henne is apples and oranges. I'm surprised you don't know the difference.
As far as being popular here that is not my goal. I just shoot straight and I think there are many here that agree with my opinions even if not the most popular view of things. Sure I cheese some off with my approach but that is me. No hard feelings intended. I even re-tract when I'm wrong and say so.
Not sure of your reason for singling me out but it is your problem not mine honestly.
Now I see it is Channing "I can't make a big play" Crowder that has you pissed off. Once again apples and oranges and you don't get it
The next time AJ Edds stacks and sheds will be his first time. I love the guys talent in coverage but if he is going downhill, cover your eyes.
Stringer Bell likes this.
You failed to mention the part where the Broncos' ILBs in 09 rushed the passer significantly more than our ILBs did in 2010 (Dansby included).
Which WILB in this league makes big plays?
I certainly hope they don't plan on using him as a 3-down player.
