Love to see more of that look we gave last week with two (gasp!) guys going deeper into the secondary and really challenging them. Cam and Hartline seemed to thrive in those roles.

 

We have to remember that Tennessee's ranking in pass defense is due in large part to that terrible game in New England earlier in the season. They are playing better now. I'm not saying it's not still a weakness that we should try and exploit, but I don't think their pass defense is as bad as the 31st ranking suggests.

 

I think the weather might be a factor in our run/pass ratio this weekend....

They've given up 300+ on 4 separate occasions not counting the Patriots game. The Patriots game affects their total considerably less than the combined Jets, Jaguars (2nd time) and Rams games.

Tom Brady is not the reason that defense gives up almost 259 yards and 67% completions a game through the air. Even if you take out the Patriots game they give up 244.58 yards per game passing, which would be 28th in the league.

Especially since the stats you post prove my point? I said the Patriots game had a large part to do with their poor ranking. I didn't mention any specific percentages and since it's by far the worst game they had in terms of pass defense what would prompt you to say BS?

The stats you post also clearly indicate that they are playing better pass defense these past few games, which was the crux of my post.

No, your point was that the Patriots game terribly skewed their stats, which is incorrect. 28th in the league is still awful at defending the pass. It doesn't skew their stats any more than playing a rookie QB in his 3rd career start did.

And you can't throw out stats for convenience either. You know how good our pass defense would look if we took out the Patriots games too, since those are the only 2 games we've given up 300+ yards passing?

If the crux of your post was that their pass defense has been better recently, why didn't you say that? You singled out 1 game trying to say their entire seasons performance looks bad because of that one game despite them giving up 300+ 5 times this season. That's the BS part, because it is.

 

Actually Stitches he said they have improved...and the stats you put up support that.

 

There is a bad piece of weather that still has not been clearly modeled yet, they say it can potentially bring a ton of son and end in the east cost...

 

The Titans had there Top 3 corners out for several weeks including Pats game. That had to do with poor pass defense at begining of the year

They gave up almost a hundred yards more passing in that game than any other game and 6 passing TDs through the air. It was a really bad game that played a large part in the poor record. Yes there were other games that contributed. I never stated that the Patriots game was an anomaly. If you go back and read, you'll notice I still said it's a weakness we should try and exploit.

You are reading way more into what I wrote than is actually there. Again, my point was they are playing better pass defense and they are.

And thanks for once again referring to my post as BS. I guess you haven't been paying attention to the recent posts regarding personal attacks.

 

1st I apologize for reading too much into it, but it sounded like you were trying to say their ranking would be a hell of a lot different if not for the pats game, which 4 spots better isn't exactly a huge change. Saying a pass defense is 31st or 28th isn't exactly good or that even a ranking a player likely would want to be a part of anyway.

2nd, since when is calling part of a post "BS" a personal attack? I must've missed where I attacked you personally because I don't see how saying BS does that. I've had my share of personal attacks on people, and from everything I've learned about it, one has to actually get personal with the other person as opposed to referencing the post. I'll apologize for it though, because if saying BS offends you, I'm sorry.

 

Maybe personal attack wasn't the right way to describe it. But I didn't see the need for you calling my post BS. Especially when I never really stated what you thought was BS. It just didn't seem like a friendly BS to me, and I didn't understand why you escalated it to that level. Maybe I read a little more venom in your post than what you actually intended which would mean we both misinterpreted each other.

Tony Brown who I think has been the best Dlinemen for the Titans missed his second day of practice with a knee injury so we might want to run a bit.

 

This is gonna be a good solid test for henne and the valuable exp he's getting this year. On the road, playoff implications against a tough Jeff fisher defense...

Henne and Young have competed against each other in college and my goodness did they go toe to toe, relative to how both play the position, they both put on a clinic {2005 rose} and were without question, the best players on the field, a field saturated with NFL caliber football players..

Maybe Henne will remember how he felt after Young won the game on the last possesion, he should be pretty fired up for this game.

 

That stat is very misleading. In reality, there have been two halves to the Titans season. In their first 6 games they were allowing 325+ yards per game through the air on average.

Since then they have allowed 1595 yards over the other 7 games and have cut their passing TD's allowed in half.

 

I get your logic & don't disagree in principle
