So Matt Moore will remain the backup, as he should. Quinn will be third string.
Ok. Well then...not really a whole lot here then.
hmm, to me it says they are going all in this year, as much as possible anyway
I was never overall impressed by Devin and felt Philbin praise of him was a bit over the top.

Will be interesting to see if another team snatches him up, that is what his real market value is not what we can speculate about
damn... well that sucks. Now watch him blow it up elsewhere.

Ravens are reportedly interested.
Knew this was going to happen, cutting/trading Moore would have made zero sense.
Says a lot since he was still practice squad eligible.

Wasn't he still eligible for the practice squad?
I just discovered we cut Brock Jensen....again. Why would they not showcase either of these guys in a preseason game first? Are 3 QBs enough in camp (with a dinged up MMoore)?
Jensen must have been truly awful not to get any snaps after watching Lobato. The preseason games should be more fun to evaluate the third string offense now.

Like in the CFL?
He reminded Dan Campbell of Tony Romo...so much for that.
This sounds to me like we're going to carry 2 QB's on the roster. It's going to be like that scene in The Dark Knight, except instead of the Joker, instead it's going to be Joe Philbin breaking a pool cue in two and only having Brady Quinn or Matt Moore get that final spot.
Devlin could be a capable backup QB in the arena league.

I think CK mentioned he was not, when discussing whether our team should carry two QB's to make room for another roster spot. He pointed out that teams who usually carry 2 QB's have a 3rd QB on the PS who know the system inside and out and since Devlin wasn't eligible, running 2 QB's this year could be risky.

Signing somebody off the street that has at least some experience isn't that hard. You lose your top 2 QB and your in a s***hole anyway.
Brian Flores when asked about tanking: “Again, no we’re not (tanking). We’re going to try to win every game. I think that’s disrespectful to even say that.”
:rimshot:
I never saw Devlin as a compelling talent. I mentioned that when we first signed him. I still don't see any reason to believe he'd ever be more than a 3rd string guy borderline back-up so really I have difficulty mustering more than a shrug over his release. The only thing I've heard about him that may have made him valuable is that allegedly he's great in the film room and really helped Tannehill there. Maybe after he washes out we can sign him as a coach?
I don't care much for Quinn either. IMO his release has always been a tad slow and his processing speed never improved after college. That's a bad combination. I liked him better than Devlin coming out although I was not among those that wanted him in the first round. My QB prospects with 1st round grades are guys I'm believe have a pretty good chance of developing into top 15 starters. I had Quinn below that. I thought he had a chance, but not high enough to warrant a first round grade.
In the end, I don't expect that having one or the other on the team will make one iota of difference in our w/l record this year. I did think we'd keep Devlin (as well as Quinn or somebody else) on just to have camp arms. So that part was surprising. But in terms of the final 53, I could care less.

Three goddamn training camps wasted developing a guy with a poor ceiling as a football player.
Ugh.
