Well, I was reserving judgment of our front office until now. I thought the media was blowing the Dolphins dysfunction out of proportion. Maybe it was just b/c the dysfunction was relegated to the FO and coaches for the most part...Sparano, Harbaugh and Fisher it didn't bother me too much. There was the Dez situation, but "hey, it was Dez," not the most trustworthy source.
But clearly Miami's "vibe" or lack-thereof is affecting player decisions to come here. Don't think there was ever a better fit than Flynn to Miami. The "vibe" of an organization almost always flows down from the top:
Peter King @SI_PeterKing
Talked to Flynn. Said a big factor in Sea over Mia was vibe in the building in Seattle: "The coaches, the staff--they were fantastic.'

Ofcourse he's going to say that, they obviously wanted him more, and he is now a Seahawk so he is going to talk them up. He would of same thing if it went the other way.

I don't put too much stock in this quote. He just signed a big contract and isn't going to say "I signed with Seattle b/c they money was better" He is going to go with the "Team really impressed me", "Pete has a ton of energy" angle. It's rare an when athlete says they took a contract for the money, which is kinda what Flynn's dad hinted at.

Flynn might be feeling hurt that his ex OC didn't want him as badly as Seattle did, similarly to how Taylor Mays felt jilted when Pete Carroll passed him over in the draft. If we didn't want the guy enough to sign him for a 26.0M contract, we shouldn't be criticized for not being excited about his visit.
If we DID seem heavily excited but didn't sign him, that's when I'd be concerned. -

By the way, you guys should peep Ryan Clark's recent tweets about why he didn't sign with Miami. -

This year you're already complaining about our "failure" at the QB position despite the possibility existing of us using our 1st on a QB.
You see the dichotomy here?slickj101 likes this. -

I've been critical of this FO when I feel they make a dumb decision, just like I will if they do sign Smith and pay him starter's money. -
clark said doesn't think person making the decisions is smart and he got offered more money to sign with Miami but passed because of it

I wasn't too terribly surprised or disappointed hearing that Flynn chose Seattle over Miami. Maybe even a little relieved. But, now with rumors swirling re; Smith, man now I'm not too sure. Just hoping that doesn't happen and that we target Tannehill at #8.
