DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins conducted the first 30 minutes of Monday's two-hour organized team activities under hazy, smoky conditions because of a nearby wildfire.
"It felt a little weird at first," said Pro-Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes, who suffers from asthma, "but as it went on we got used to it."
Coach Joe Philbin seemed pleased with the session.
"I thought we had a good practice," he said. "We did goal line. We put that in, (and did) two-point plays, and did another little red-zone installation. As I said to the team, we're basically just about ready to play a game. At the end of the week we'll simulate an overtime. I'm real pleased with the progress we're seeing on the field."

I think he means as far as the offense installation is concerned. Playing a regular season game would require finalizing starters/backups, scouting opponent... I wouldn't doubt they are "almost ready" for a preseason game. However, you just know the usual suspects will enjoy ribbing Joe for that statement.

While this isn't a complete lie, at least Philbin hasn't been Klinsmann honest.

About 7 more weeks for pre season. It would be nice if we could scrimmage with the Bucs

For Sparano's teams, this statement came true in the middle of November.
I hope Philbin's team is ready this year.Unlucky 13 and Vertical Limit like this. -
Well is is nice to know that they are finally ready to play a game. Because based on how they ended the season, they quit playing last year after 14 games. I'm not sure exactly what the coaches and players were ready for when they played the Bills and Jets in the final two games. They obviously weren't ready to play a football game in the final two weeks last year.jdang307, djphinfan and PhinFan1968 like this.
