The Broncos reportedly are wanting a 2nd round pick for Kyle Orton:
    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/04/broncos-will-want-second-round-pick-for-orton/

We don't have a 2nd rounder in 2011 (at this time), but why not give Denver our 2nd round pick in 2012 for Orton. This would give us a little more flexibility in the 2011 draft. If the QB we want in 2011 is still on the board we could draft him and have him and Henne backup Orton. I am hoping we can draft a RB like Mark Ingram, or take a defensive player like Von Miller in Round One.

The nfl has declared that no player for draft picks trades can happen until the CBA is worked out and that is supposedly going to happen by...September.

Which means only 2012 draft picks can be traded for players in 2011.

I'd rather have McNabb on a 2 year deal if we cant grab a young QB this year. Orton is streaky and to be honest he kinda sucks.

The only way I want to mortgage future picks for a QB is to move up and grab a rookie in this year's draft. I like Orton, but a 2nd rounder is too much to give up for a temporary solution.

To add, it is completely foolish to use a #1 pick on a RB. Especially with no solid solution at QB. It's not a luxury we can afford. It is a changing league, and the value of RBs drops every year. Even Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson can't help their teams to victory without good QB play.

LMAO, he is kind of average, but that was funny. Why not keep the picks and sign McNabb?

I don't even want to think about an NFL strike. I'll just root for my Phillies and watch baseball then. It's too bad gread has to ruin everything.

This all sounds too familiar. Lets give up another 2nd round pick for a QB thats not a proven winner.

Yeah but Ricky and Ronnie are on their last legs. I think Ronnie is a free agent, depending on what happens with the CBA. We have negelected the RB position for quite a while and we have to start looking at get a solid RB. I think Ingram would be a great fit.

Yeah but at least you know what you have with Orton, unlike Beck, Pat White, AJ Feeley.

I wouldn't suggest ignoring the position, but it is just not a priority in today's NFL. Finding the QB is so much more important. Look at the playoff teams. One thing you'll find is a common thread is that a good deal of them have first round QBs. What you won't see are a lot of first round RBs on those rosters. Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson will be watching the playoffs from home. And who knows what C.J. Spiller is up to.
