How deep will it sting? Will you be able to support the team otherwise, even if they sign Flynn or draft a QB?
Is this a tipping point for Stephen Ross?
Will you cry if Manning doesn't choose Miami?

voted yes. i'm already getting misty eyed thinking about denver and arizona. :pity: -
For myself, I doubt I would over anything football related. But, I think the Manning decision is going to have a profound impact on the fanbase, for better or worse.
I have a friend that is a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, and he balled like a girl when LeBron left. These things hit people hard. -
Crying is going a little far, but to strike out three times would be dissapointing.
And we'd have to really accept that our franchise has lost most of its luster. Football wise there are other moves at qB I would like so I'd get over it, but being thought of like the Browns, or Bills, would be a lot to take.dolfan7171, Colorado Dolfan, dolfan32323 and 1 other person like this. -
I'm reserving my tears for when we win a SB. Happy tears of course.

It's fairly funny because the hype surrounding Manning was entirely media created. If Phin fans still buy into media hype, that's on them.
We were hearing numbers of 85% to Miami then when we didn't even meet with Manning, guys like Schefter started saying we lost steam as if we told them we were going to sign Manning. Philbin hasn't seem enthused at all about this and he certainly hasn't made any plans known to anyone.GreysonWinfield, dolfndav34, AdamC13 and 2 others like this. -

I wouldnt actually cry but I voted yes. It would be very disappointing. With Peyton I would have hope of the Super Bowl. If the Pats could get there with a bad defense and mediocre run game and the 9-7 Giants could win it with the worst run game...we could definitely have a shot if Peyton stays healthy.

Nope. I have been a Peyton Manning fan for years. I will still be a fan of his no matter what team he goes to (except the Jets). I have had this avatar for many years. It would be great if he was a dolphin but I will survive if it doesn't happen.
-
I'd feel like the world just landed on my soul and crushed it. I'd never trust anything I ever heard again and just quietly curse myself for ever being a dolphins fan.

We're all going to do the same thing if Manning doesn't sign. Embrace the 2nd option and convince ourselves he's better than the #1 option, whether he is or not.

It would be terrible to see Ross miss out on yet another person he wants in Miami. How many times can this happen before we start asking serious questions? Being that Ross has made it known he wants Peyton I think he has to do whatever it takes to get him in Miami. He misses Harbaugh, it doesn't work out with Fisher, he can't afford to miss yet again. I think he should ask Dan Marino to get involved a little.

I am in a very negative place right now concerning the Miami Dolphins. While I am very excited about the possibilities, part of me, the negative or realistic part, is waiting for the shoe to drop. It could be a lose - lose situation. I feel that Ross will screw it up and not get Manning (can't wait to see that press conference from Ross!). If we do get Manning I feel he could be a complete bust either by not being healthy, getting injured early in the season or something and all this will make the team look even worse and more pathetic....
-
Nope, not at all. I think passing on Peyton might turn out to be the best thing for the Miami Dolphins in the end. Would it be so bad to actually draft a quarterback in the 1st round? The Dolphins haven't done that in my lifetime.
-
I would be dissappointed but not crushed. For me until he is signed it is best to remain hopefully optimistic. If he signed with the Jets I might start to blubber though.

My expectation is that Manning is not coming, so I certainly won't cry if he does what I expect and he signs with another team. What I will do if he does sign with the Dolphins is something I haven'y done in over forty years. I will go out and buy a six pack and probably drink every single one of them in celebration.
-
Also, looks like he won for missing out on Fisher. Chances are we would have a new DC facing a suspension right now. Philbin is a great hire. -
I'll laugh if we don't sign Manning, because that's what this franchise has done to me.

All I have seen so far from Ross is his ability to fail when it comes to hiring the first man he goes after. He certainly did not make his billions because of his ability to run a football organization. If he wants more fans in the seats next year, he must sign Manning. Signing Flynn or drafting a second tier QB in this years draft is certainly not going to put more butts in those seats next year.
I just don't see Flynn as a future star in the NFL. I see him as a very mediocre QB and if the Dolphins sign him as their QB of the future, I see them still searching for a franchise QB when the 2013 draft comes around. As far as the Dolphins picking #8 in the draft. Be prepared for another offensive lineman to be selected by the Dolphins with that pick. -
No,I won't cry although I'd like him to join us down here.
I'm past the holding my breath stage with this team. Been let down too many times. -
