I don't think Taylor would be playing every down like Porter. I think he'd just be brought in in obvious passing situations. Then you could bring Taylor in and have him rush from anywhere you want basically. Taylor would be a liability trying to play the strong side against the run. But on passing downs I'm sure he could effectively rush from that side in place of Matt Roth whose strength is against the run. It seems to me you could insert Taylor in instead of Roth on passing downs.
I don't think his presence would hurt Porter at all. If anything it would help him. Taylor even at this age would likely command more attention and respect as a pass rusher than Matt Roth. It could put an end to all the double teams against Joey Porter.Stitches, hugoguzman and late again like this. -
the dynamics dont fit imo. would i accept it, sure, if JT said all the right things and i believed him, do i want it to happen...no, i've moved on with my young team.

I don't see adding another pass rusher as hurting Porter. I think it will only help Porter, late last seasons teams just focused on Porter. He play was lacking another threat.
I not even saying JT is coming back...just that Miami NEEDS another pass rusher badly.hugoguzman likes this. -
The odds of Taylor being back in the a Dolphin's uni is very slim. I will be utterly shocked if we were to sign him.

Id rather bring in Wake to play those passing downs opposite Joey than bringing back Taylor.
We need to move on and continue to build a team with some youth. Taylor just doesnt fit those plans.
I dont see him coming back.miamiron and hugoguzman like this. -
Remember that in this locker room, JT still has pull. IMO, it isn't prudent to bring back an aging, ailing, probably not going to come cheap veteran to a place where he can be as loud as he wants if necessary because he made himseelf a future hall of famer here.
I love JT and if I thought the pros of coming back to us outweighed the cons, that the addition of his talent relative to his age would get us to the big game, then all is forgiven. After all, the word grudge isn't or shouldn't be in the business dictionary. But is JT coming back to Miami good for business? I ardently do not believe so.
There is hidden young talent up and down this draft as there is in all of them. That is our future. That should be our business.
The culture cultivating in Davie will one day cut through diamond. We need youth that is going to buy in, stock up, and sell out for it.miamiron, djphinfan and hugoguzman like this. -
I don't care if Porter wins or loses.
I care if the Dolphins win or lose. If signing JT helps the Dolphins win, then I'm all for it, even if it means Mr. Peezy only gets 12 sacks.hugoguzman and muscle979 like this. -

JT if he has anything left in the tank could also allow multiple formations were he could play ILB and still pass rush, something we are lacking and is the key to any good pass rush. -

Besides, you'd better report to Jets Stadium, they are bundling souls to sell to Denver for Jay Cutler..:lol:124 likes this. -
If he respects the code, then i would love for him to come home, just out of pure homerism. i do have the ability to forgive a true dolphin, just like i did with ricky. -
I don't care if we field 53 non bleeding orange and aqua players if it helps the Dolphins win! I'm not married to anyone on the team.
Dedicated Dolphin players are great and a feel good story and all that, but you think Dallas fans cared when they signed Deion Sanders and won some superbowls? I think not. -
