I'd be okay if we did that, but I wouldn't give them 3 first rounders this season. Give them 5, 27 and the lower 1st next season. Or better yet, give them Howard, our middle 1st this season and our highest 1st next season. That lets us replace Howard at #5.

 

I dont see the Bengals accepting any trade that doesnt include #5.

The most likely scenario for a trade is that they like someone like Tua or Herbert equally to Burrow. In this case we would both stand pat, make our picks, then trade Tua/Herbert + picks for Burrow.

I dont see any way the Bengals trade down to 5 with two possible trade partners at #3 and #4 for other teams to jump them and steal their gold.

They are going to want to guarantee a QB, trade or no trade.

 

If the Bengals were smart they'd just stand pat and take Burrow.

 

I really do not for a second believe we are trading up for Burrow... If they wanted to do this... Not a single word would be spoken about it to anyone.... No sense in driving up the price.

You guys, your formula is the Mark Sanchez, Matt Leinart, Matthew Stafford, Marcus Mariotta approach...get a quarterback and everything magically falls into place.

If I could build this team, we’d be the dominating force in the NFL for the next 20-30 years

 

If the Bengals have Burrow and Herbert on the same level they can grab Burrow at #1, then work out a deal for Miami to grab Herbert at #5 and add in #18 and #56. A sweet deal for the Bengals if they were tempted to take Herbert at #1 anyway, but they get him and extra picks by playing Miami.

If I was Miami, I'd push back hard on that trade, offering #26 and #70 instead, adding #153 if needed. If Tua was still there you could even offer a trade to the Chargers to move up and grab the QB they want: #5 and #153 for #6 and #71. In this case, Miami gets Herbert or Tua at #6 depending on what the Chargers do.

Miami would have to believe they could roll with any of those three at QB to do this though. Tua and Herbert would need to sit for a year to develop, and it wouldn't be a bad thing for Burrow to sit for half a season. Burrow seems to be the safest bet, with Tua and Herbert having some serious questions in regards to health or ability at the NFL level.

 

Matthew Stafford is actually a good QB stuck on one of the biggest jokes of a franchise in the NFL.

There is also a long list of players who went to bad teams and succeeded at least on an individual level and been let down by their teams

. I think we have done a solid job with our signings this year to have a foundation a young QB can come in to.

Remember, we have Fitz. Even if we draft a QB early we dont have to start him right away. He can sit for a year while we continue to build the foundation.

 

That’s way too steep of a price. I like Burrow better then the others but honestly I’m not 100% sold on any of them. If you give up that much, he better be your starting QB for the next decade

Put Matt Stafford in KC with Andy Reid? You have a perennial pro bowl QB. It is impressive how solid he is despite the garbage circumstances he has had around him from day one.

 

Lots of good enough QB's to win never do.... There is no formula for winning the Superbowl. Sure it seems easy... Draft Mahomes hire one of the best coaches in the NFL and surround him with insane talent.
