Please let us offer up a prayer that Ava comes through her treatment well. I received this email today from Ava's mom - Carmelina - in response to an email I sent her asking how Ava is doing.

Ava will be starting a very aggressive phase of treatment in a couple of weeks, but she's a trooper and seems to be doing really well.
Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and all you have done to help cheer up Ava. It really means a lot to all of us.

Just curious, is the child dealing with Cancer or some derivative?

She has leukemia Richard. When I last met with her she had lost almost all her hair. She's a beautiful, smart, delightful little girl and was just overjoyed at all the things the site had gotten for her.

I tend to despise life for giving things like this to children. Makes me hug my children a little tighter.
Parenting is such a great yet maddening part of life. You just have fears that you know could rip your world apart and none of them involve you.

This is ATV's Niece right? Well regardless if she is or not, she's in my prayers. Hate that a kid has to go throught this stuff.
