What I’m getting out of this game is Christian McCaffrey is now higher on my fantasy draft board, and Kenyan Drake may get a slight boost as well.

Penalties, dink and dunk passing game...i thought we got rid of the trouble makers and the players who weren't able to run deeper than 3 yard routes?

So I've been coming to the site for probably 5 years now, thought it was time to actually join after this game...
If you look at stats Tannehil was 14-17, but big deal... This dink and dunk crap doesn't move the ball. I thought it was a Landry issue, but it's a Gase issue. This crap is so frustrating if it's going to continue into the regular season. Does he not trust Tannehil arm, or is this his "great fast pace offense"? We aren't going nowhere if we're only throwing 5 yard routes.
Sorry my first post is a rant.
I'm also a bit buzzed, so apologize for the gramar. -
It doesnt help when you dont have your deep threat out there and your receivers cant separate. Also tannehill has to trust his receivers and just take chances. This is not a receiving core thats going to scare secondaries, youre gonna have to take chances if you want to go anywhere this season.

Looks like Sanders will have a probowl year since he will be kicking lots of fieldgoals

Glad to see the linebackers show up and make some plays tonight. Robert Quinn also made his presence felt tonight and did a little flipper dance after his first sack, that was funny. Offenses will really have to pick their poison when choosing which end to double up on, assuming Wake holds up all season.

So, we drafted a 6'6" seam threat with 4.5 speed...and he hasn't touched the ball thru 2 preseason games.

Gesicki and Tannehill need to be working on their chemistry. You want a top 5 offense, I think that should be top priority. A game shouldn't go by where he has zero targets...unacceptable.

Not sure Suh should LOL too much at the run defense.
In 2016 the Dolphins had the WORST run defense in the league by yards per carry (tied with San Fran) giving up 4.8 Y/C when the league average was 4.2. And you want to look at Y/C not Y/G because Y/G depends too much on having a lead.
And Suh started all 16 games that year.
More generally, he didn't elevate our defense much if at all while he was here even though he himself played well. Statistically speaking, either the metrics tended to stay similar to before he came or they got worse on defense from 2015. -

I guess everyone here thinks we’re hiding Gesickis for the real season when it matters. Repetition is where it matters against real opponents regardless of their caliber.
So by not showcasing him in the preseason you don’t believe our afc opponents don’t have scouts at practices, or that they won’t game plan for him since we didn’t use him I. Preseason? He needs to get a flow with Ryan. We had 4 chances inside the 30 to work on it and NOT 1 attempt to him. Zero!!
Gase May be a nice player coach but in 3 years O haven’t seen the magic he was hired for not once. He hasn’t coached us to a win with some magical play calls. His team now is built around agin veterans for leadership and some really rough rookies, and younger players. We lost a ton of talent which have been a distraction but litterly all your pro bowl caliber players they pretty much dumped.
I have some real concerns with this team and the coaching staff on both sides of the ball.
Will they turn it around 7-8 weeks into the season? Maybe but it may be too late once again for us to contend.
For me Gase is on notice if we do respectable I give him 2 year extension in the hot seat if this year is a failure than I honestly feel we need to start looking again you don’t get 6-8 years to turn a team around anymore and that’s not needed. 2-3 years with free agency and drafting you could have a very formidable team.
I went off tract but this team needs starters deep into preaseason games to get some mojo cause we come out the gate 1-3 it’s going to be ugly!!phinswolverinesrockets likes this. -
