OL and OL coach. This is the week to get rid of Jim Turner. He cannot keep his job. OL worst in the history of the NFL. Waive Clabo now. Worst RT I've ever seen.
QB not progressing. Not sure you what you do about that. We just have to continue to evaluate and hopefully he can get over the hump. Right now, he's a mess. Of course, with this OLine, he cannot be expected to do any better.
Kicker. I like Sturgis on FGs, but you cannot kick the ball out of bounds...EVER. What in the hell was that? We need to find a kicker to handle kickoff duties. CS cannot be trusted. Today, he sucked.
Rookie Class? WTH are they? We traded up for Dion Jordon? Really? Why? He is a ghost...some people believe he exist, but there is no concrete evidence of him. Jamar Taylor...geez.
Grimes = Chump. Big time. Why is everyone so enamored with this guy? He's God Awful.
Running game? Need new backs, but see OLine. No back would be good with this group.
Mike Wallace...what a waste of money. This guy sucks so bad...Ridiculous how bad he is.
I would be in favor of scrapping this whole failed experiment, Head Coach and all...and starting over. The reason I say this is because if Tannehill isn't the answer (and I dont think he is) we're going to be scrapping it all and starting over any way after next year. Do we run that risk? The owner probably will, but I think its a mistake. Philbin isn't the answer. I am convinced about that.
Bottom line...FAIL!

I feel like you just looked at the box score of the game. Dion Jordan caused the pick 6. Grimes was all over Torrey Smith. Smith just made great plays. If Clabo is the worst RT you've ever seen, you haven't been a Dolphins fan very long.

I agree with Grimes gripe, he's had a disappointing 6 quarters, for his standards. We need him to be a shutdown corner.

So is everyone gonna start a thread?

You want people to take this seriously when you say Jordan is a ghost... when he's the reason for the pick 6? Ok... awesome. After that, theres just really nothing left to address.

If this thread is moved to Soap Box rants then phinsational's "OH NOOO" thread should definitely be moved. It's pretty much the very definition of a soap box rant thread. It takes far more aim at other posters than it does the topic of the Miami Dolphins.

I know, I know...everyone thinks our QB and HC are awesome. And they can think that. I will get personally attacked as if I threw the INTs or I didnt have this team prepared. I am used to it by now. -

That's striking here that some of you immediately jump to ""BAN HIM" because I am "reactionary". A little reactionary yourself, no? My opinions may be right, they may be wrong, but they can be leigitimately debated. -
-
No. You should be banned because you come in and spew crap that is so untrue, anyone that is actually a dolphins fan and not a troll wouldn't spew. Like Dion Jordan was invincible. He had multiple pressures on the QB. He also cause the game tying interception. either you didn't watch the game, or you are just straight up a troll and should be banned. Which is it?
-
Also saying we need to find a new kicker for kick offs. All because Sturgis, our machine kicker, had one bad kick.
Also saying Philbin isn't the answer is a pretty troll-y too. Guy is in his 2nd year and has a winning record at the moment.
This dude is either trolling or he has unrealistic expectations.Nappy Roots likes this. -
There is plenty of bad play or questionable **** going on with this team, where I don't need to come on here to read a bunch of dumb and unrealistic ****.Rocky Raccoon likes this. -
It can't be that I think Mike Wallace is grossly overpaid for the amount of passes he drops? It can't be that having a kickoff specialist is a good idea so you don't give a team needing a FG the ball at the 40? And you might want to relook at Philbin's record...is it really a winning record? -
-
-
You think one thing, I think some thing else. I don't call you a troll or any other name. You are someone who disagrees with me. Why does that make me worse than you? -
QB - a work in progress. He seems to be coached for "1, 2, throw". Kid simply doesn't have the time to set up and deliver on most plays. This is why we see so many 3 step and fire drops.
Kicker - has been a phenom. Still, no one boots them all perfectly every time. Completely disagree with your assessment.
Rookie class - DJordan has had an impact in every game. He had several pressures and hits and was responsible for the pick 6 being thrown in the first place. Sturgis has been very good. Taylor has played, but lacks experience. Philbin simply does not play rookies that much until the final quarter of a season. No point in expecting them to do much this season but learn schemes. Any plays, ala Jordan, are icing.
Grimes - gave up some passes. No TDs. Was victimized by the Refs on a PI call. Has pretty shutout some premier talent. Picked Luck. Brees specifically stayed away from him. No idea why you think he is awful.
Running game - non-existent today, but we have been able to run in other games. Sherman abandoned the run in the Browns and Colts games too early IMO.
Wallace - too early to dog him as a bust or waste. He does need to step up his toughness. He is letting DBs press him off the line and knock him off routes. He also doesn't jump up to meet balls, but seems to wait for them to drop in. He has to show more on field cognizance of where he is on the field, along the sidelines, and where he is in relationship to LBs and safeties and that the QB is going to fire the ball away from them and expect it. He also has to realize that when premier pass rushers like Dumervill and Suggs are applying pressure that he has to help his QB out by working back to him and presenting a target.
Starting over after a season and 1/4? Wow. I think that's a very poor estimation of where we're at and where we will be by the end of the season. You can't honestly make that sort of uninformed opinion without a wider body of work from Philbin and the team. 3-4 seasons is the norm. Takes that long for a coach to get "his" players and his system in place. That mentality is why the Browns and Raiders languish in agony every couple seasons. Look at their history. They dumped Shanahan and Bellichek after a season or two because the results weren't immediate and the fans weren't happy. Both have gone on to win SBs with new teams that were willing to give them time and let them put their people in place.
Fail? We lost a game. Whether we fail to have a successful season, or show growth, will be determined at the end of the season. This assessment is akin to giving a student a 16 question exam and snatching the paper away after 5 questions have been responded to with 2 wrong answers... -

And look at the Chiefs this year. As soon as they got rid of their loser HC and QB, they start winning games. There are two ways to look at it. IF hes the right guy, we will be okay in two years, at least. If hes NOT the right guy, we are going to suck for another 5-6 years. Not a gamble I am willing to take, esp not when his QB is getting killed because he can't put together a solid oline. -
