I spent a lot of time trying to emulate her hairstyle, and was never successful. She fought a courageous battle with dignity. RIP

 

I was at the hospital she passed at about an hour ago for a physical, and there were a-hole paparazzi poking cameras inside of people's car windows as they were leaving (probably looking for grieving family members). I didn't realize this had happened at the time. RIP Farrah

 

I had her poster on my wall in the late 70's.

She fought this decease so hard and so long. I pray she is at peace now.

And at such a young age but I know she's been battling for a long time, so its good she's at peace now.

I can't tell you how much rage I am filled with right now.

 

Nice pic Doc, that is how I will remember Farrah Fawcett.

She played one of the villians in the Apostle, and she did a great job of playing the character, to me she also would wish to be remembered as a serious actress.

And I still recall her being mentioned in Lee Major's gravelly voice in the opening song to Fall Guy.

What did she do besides be a beautiful actress? Not trying to be a jerk, it's just that she was out of my time and I've been trying to figure out her allure.

While it's a damn shame she died so young, the way the Papparazzi hounded her makes me think she captured the attention of society beyond "being beautiful".

In todays terms is this like Angelina Jolie passing away (Gorgeous woman, talented actor, incredible humanitarian), or is it like Pamela Anderson passing away? (Gorgeous woman known only for her looks)?

 

DaPhins, she was beautiful in Charlie's Angels, and then, really made an impact as a serious actress in a movie called "The Burning Bed." It was not just her performance, but the attention to abuse of women that merited respect. She went on to many other roles in which she displayed versatility as an actress, not just a pretty face.

 

She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

 

dont you get it? in america if youre beautiful you get ahead in life. if not...pffff. beauty is everything in this country. always has been.

 

RIP Farrah...she stretched multiple generations similar to Marylin Monroe & contributed a lot to society in her later years.

I may have been too young to watch her during her hay day, but she had a beaming smile that I will never forget.

And for those who say she didn't "do anything" :rolleyes: as if that were a requirement for being able to mourn a beloved public figure.

When I was younger I watched all my hero's pass on and now its the people I've grown up with. RIP Angel.

The night before she passed I finally watched "Farrah's Story". I had it on DVR since it came out, just never had the time to watch it. What a story. Sad and inspiring all at the same time. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.

Very courageous to film her sickness.
She was more then just beautiful. She was a classic. A sad day in all with her and MJ going the same day.

 

She also had a special on E channel a couple of years ago, the type where they follow her around and film her life.

In her wake I hope they play this a couple of times.
Just to watch her away from movies was incredible. As you mention, beauty wasn't only skin deep with her, it est emminated from within her.

Of course she also had the physical beauty, I personally put her in my top 3 all-time, and I am not sure who the other 2 are my wife of course is right up there :up:

Till her dying day she was a very modest Country girl that didn't seek attention, never got into controversy and always treated everybody with respect.

Even Lee Majors repeatedly said she was still one of his very best friends and one of the best people he had ever met.and that was after their divorce.


EDIT: The Documentary I referred to was actually on TV Land, was a 5 part series and was entitled "Chasing Farrah". I would strongly suggest watching when it airs again

 

That's what made her a classic. The Lohan's and Hilton's of the world should take a lesson from her.

I was away from the site all weekend, so this is my first chance to chime in. But, I also want to express my feelings of sadness in the death of Farrah Fawcett. The poster above was proudly mounted on my wall for years as a teenager. Needless to say I was a smitten as a kitten at the site of Farrah in her prime. The hair, the teeth, the, well...better stop there. But, you get my drift. I thought she was the hottest sex symbol to come along in my lifetime. I had a HUGE crush on her. Over the years that followed, and as more became known about her, I think her inner beauty came out as well. She certainly proved she was more than just a pretty face and could be a serious actress.

Fast forward to watching her fight for her life, and ultimately lose her battle with cancer, well...it saddens me greatly. But, as has been said...at least she is no longer suffering.

R.I.P Farrah. You will be missed.
