Nice to know someone will be picking Miami this week but him and Parcells are buddies so that could be a factor.

 

This game is a toss up. Some will see us at 1-15 last year and say Jets win easily. Some will do some research, see our improvements in attitude, conditioning, and coaching and predict us a win. I, of course, predict a win but in reality we won't know anything until it plays out Sunday.

 

We'll win. We'll pick Favre twice and win 23-13

As much as the Green wants to think otherwise, A Miami win would NOT be an upset Week 1. If it were a week 5 or 6 matchup maybe. But we used to have a pretty good home record in Sept/Oct for a reason.

 

seriously....that 1-15 record is a complete black eye.....but it is also very mis-leading.....we had tons of back ups playing.....lemon, SAMKON GADO, worrell etc....and the 3 point losses....we played the eventual superbowl champs good, and couldve easily won with our starters in the game.....we are not the 1-15 team of last season......that team wasnt a 1-15 team!

 

I am optimistic about our chances, but I am not going to get my hopes up to high.

They were only 4-12 with a coach and team that went to the playoffs while we had bumbling fumbling Cam. :lol:

One thing to keep in mind is; most of the people on that 1-15 team are kicking horse turds down the road to somewhere else too. We are a better team right now IMO.

I only expect to see him in the blitz pkgs where no thought is required. he still seems pretty lost in the 3-4.

Interesting to hear Mort's picking us in this one. Its a tough call... obviously i Hope we win. but favre is good for pulling wins out of thin air... I think it could go either way. Were definately going to surprise people i think this week... win or loose.

The thing that really scares me is Favre. Are we going to get 2007 fantastic Favre? Or are we going to get horrible pre-2007 favre. I hope the latter obviously.

Don't discount a HOF QB. Imagine Dan lining up with any team in the NFL, he could beat any team on any day. Brett's no Favre, but he's up there very close esp. last year.

We have a super young team. Crowder is the veteran leadership on D, think about that one for a second. If we aren't way better at the end of the year than now, then something went terrible wrong. Jets at home, with the QB story line, yeah, I'd like to see a win. Don't write off the season if we play flat though, we will be better.

Since when? Long was your prize for being one of the worst football teams of all time. The Jets have been drafting better then the Phins for years now.

That comment not withstading, you have to admit Gholston was NOT the guy the Jets wanted. He was simply BPA at that point.

 

Agreed, but he was probably #2 and when stacked up against Ginny Jr and Jason Allen, well, it looks like a hell of a pick.

Meh, thats a little homeristic. Ginn was a rookie last year, Allen got caught under two bad regimes (and looked like a playmaker last season), and Gholston hasn't played a down yet.

Can't say any pick looks good stacked against those players.

 

I don't know about that. It's too early to tell anything yet, VG could blow up, or not. Ginn has become the #1 wr in year two which was about the best you could hope for. We'll see how he plays. Allen has been slow to catch on but was our best playmaker down the stretch last season and in the pre-season. He's not starting this week but I wonder if that's only b/c they plan to play him in the dime over Keller or Washington. Those two players are tough matchups.

Yes, I would agree to that. The Jets had the worst spot in the draft last season.

 

Just play the game, then we'll have learned a LOT more about our Fins then we know now.

(But a win would be VERY nice for us :up: )
