"A man's suffering is similar to the behavior of gas. If a certain quantity of gas is pumped into an empty chamber, it will fill the chamber completely and evenly, no matter how big the chamber. Thus, suffering completely fills the human soul and conscious mind, no matter whether the suffering great or little. Therefore, the "size" of human suffering is absolutely relative." - Viktor Frankl

73rd ranked Safety that was expected to go undrafted. Oakland does it again.

They did learn. They learned how to mess up again except it was in the next round.

You know he is a violent player reminds me alot of Sean Taylor in that regard. I think it was way to high for him. but he could turn out to be a stud. Remember Chris Johnson.

I would take him above Pat White. lol.

That schedule guy that shows up once a year.

I'm kind of rooting for this guy just because he was such a reach.

I'm not saying that it was a smart move by oakland. Just saying the guy can hit.

He doesn't look that bad... I mean he has really good closing speed and can hit and tackle.

BUT just think how frustrating it has to be for an Oakland Scout...

YOU: "I like him as much as you Al, but we could get him later"
Al Davis: "I don't know... I think we should just get him here."

Thank you giovafin for this awesome Sig!

It could end up being a good pick...

It's not like your draft round is who you are. But chances are he will suck playing vs. top notch talent and be a special teamer. Either way he should have not been taken at least before the 3rd and only Al and Rick Spielman would even reach for him in that round.

However if he pans out, he could be one of the fastest, hardest hitting safeties in the game.

Time will tell...it's just really easy to question a guy picking when he is 200 years old. The only thing that comes out of his mouth right now is..."I don't owe you nothing coach, get out of here." "I like speed, did I mention I really like speed."

The thing is that they could have gotten this guy five rounds later.

Its a highlight reel though.

And the Raiders have zero clue as to what they're doing. I read a quote the other day that discussed the war room in Oakland and how it was when Herschel Walker was coming out for the draft. The whole front office, at the time in the war room, agreed that Walker would be the pick. However, Al Davis bluffed and when there pick came up, the team scout had to go use the restroom. Well, when he came back, he saw on TV that the Raiders picked a linebacker from LSU I believe who didn't turn out to be so good so he asked Al, "I thought we agreed on Herschel Walker." Al says something like, "no you guys agreed on Walker. I'm the owner. I make the calls." That was probably about two decades ago and I'm not sure the war room has changed in Oakland. Al Davis is still calling the shots and I'm damn sure that he doesn't watch much tape.

Pat White round 2 takes the cake.

At least Mitchell will get about 30+ more snaps than White :pity:

I understand the move but correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we use the Wildcat to get our best athletes on the field because we didn't have all the pieces?

I think the biggest mistake people are making with the Pat White pick is that they are assuming he will be used in the Wildcat only. That won't be happening. Like I said in the Club Level when the pick was made, Pat White will be used as a slot receiver and while he lacks the experience at the position, he'll be running drag routes and finding the soft spot in the zone. I made this comparison earlier but they're interest in Percy Harvin continued on to Pat White. They want a guy who can make plays in space, period. Harvin is much more dynamic but White is also dangerous in the open field because he's elusive.

no it was to put the ball into the hands of the best players to give them opportunities to succeed.

it was never mentioned by the coaching staff that the wildcat was used because we don't have all the pieces that part was labeled by others.

at least that's how I remember it.

the wildcat is not a gimmick offense.... it is not like the statue of liberty .. and besides for the most part it worked last year and we were very constricted with what we would do out of it (see, sweep run, run up the middle) now teams can't just load up the box and stuff the run...

Unfortunately, we have a glut of similar WR's who work better in the slot. Not a lot of guys who can make sideline grabs over defenders or in the red zone.

Final MCAT attempt 5/28
Results: ???
Goal: 38+, Latest practice tests: 37, 35, 39

Yeah, we still need a red zone target and I'm guessing they have confidence in London.

Certainly would hope for a little insurance there at this point. London has promise but promise doesn't score points.

Listen there are so many WR's in this draft that play better at WR. There is no guarantee that White even succeeds as a Wideout. Its a very hard position to learn. Now I'm fine with using him all over the field he is easily are worst WR on the roster and maybe just maybe the 3rd best QB. I'm looking at John Beck to be traded tomorrow.

I hope White succeeds but I just don't know how anyone can justify the pick at this time.

I justify it because they hold the position to make the pick and I don't.

How in the hell did this turn into a Pat White thread :confused2:

Why do you think we still have Wilford on the roster!

j/k lol.

But seriously, while I dislike seeing bust out generally (I try not to wish bad on people), I do enjoy watching the Raiders flounder because of stupid stuff like this draft so far. What a mess of a franchise.
