Randy Kiper's 2015 GML Mock Draft: Edition One
Now that the NFL Combine has wrapped up, it's time for my first mock draft of the season. Lots of smokescreens thus far and its pretty clear that this is how its going to shape up... there will be plenty of GMs quick to deny these rumors but don't let them fool you. The madder they get, the better I am doing my job.
001. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
I can't imagine the Jaguars would trade all the way up to the first overall pick for Kevin "Combine Warrior" White... The smoke is strong in this one.
002. TENNESSEE TITANS - Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska
Tennessee will likely see Derrick Morgan sail away to another city in the next month so they'll compromise by taking arguably the best pass rusher in the draft.
003. MIAMI DOLPHINS - Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
The Dolphins traded away Mike Wallace and sent both Brian "White Lightning" Hartline and Brandon Gibson packing and now White will join Jarvis Landry to form the dynamic duo.
004. OAKLAND RAIDERS - Leonard Williams, DT, USC
Oakland simply needs talent so they'll select my number one player on the draft board... well, they should at least.
005. CLEVELAND BROWNS - Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
Cleveland is going to take a long hard look at quarterback but history tells us that they'll say "screw it" and address it later.
006. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - Dante Fowler, LB, Florida
The Colts will look to add plenty of talent in the draft and they'll start by ensuring Todd doesn't get any Fowler.
007. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
You thought the New England dynasty was over after Brady? In three years, you'll see the Belichick and Mariota relationship take off.
008. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS - Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
The 49ers could use someone to anchor the middle of their defense that isn't a journeyman... Shelton fits the bill!
009. NEW YORK GIANTS - Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
The New York Giants of New Jersey will add Combine Warrior #2 in Trae Waynes... However a "Thank You For Drafting Me" ad in the New York Times is likely too costly for Trae.
010. ST. LOUIS RAMS - Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa
Jake Long is struggling to stay healthy and who knows if he'll still be on the roster by March... so they'll replace him with a younger Midwestern white boy.
011. MINNESOTA VIKINGS - Shane Ray, DE, Missouri
Pass rush and defensive line depth is one of the Vikings few remaining needs so they'll lock up a slight need to go with their "best player available" method.
012. WASHINGTON REDSKINS - Vic Beasley, LB, Clemson
The Redskins need to ensure that Robert Griffin III stays healthy, so a pass rusher seems to make the most sense here.
013. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - Andrus Peat, OL, Stanford
New Orleans is all about getting good value and they'll get great value as they look to protect their franchise quart... well, Brock Osweiler.
014. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - Landon Collins, S, Alabama
Indianapolis will tell you that Andrew Luck can lead the offense on his own so they'll add more talent on the other side of the ball with Landon Collins.
015. NEW YORK JETS - DaVante Parker, WR, Louisville
Peyton Manning is threatening to retire if the Jets don't draft or sign a big name wide receiver so here's Parker.
016. HOUSTON TEXANS - La'el Collins, OL, LSU
The Texans have a few holes on the offensive line, such as right tackle, and Collins can play a variety of positions at the next level.
017. DENVER BRONCOS - Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State....wait....Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
When Denver traded down, they were hoping they could still land Jameis Winston... They thought they did until they realized you can't select a player twice... poor Alex.
018. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - Ereck Flowers, OL, Miami
The last time the Chiefs selected a player by the name of Flowers, it turned out pretty well, right?
019. CLEVELAND BROWNS - Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
Because why not?
020. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - Alvin Dupree, DE, Kentucky
The Eagles will probably lose out on Brandon Graham in free agency but Dupress is a solid consolation prize.
021. GREEN BAY PACKERS - Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
You can hear Paul drunkenly screaming after the draft now... "Who needs Lacey when you have Melvin ****ing Gordon?! COME AT ME, BRO!"
022. PITTSBURGH STEELERS - Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
Big Ben could use another target not named Antonio Brown... so begins the new nickname for the Pittsburgh duo: Brown and Strong.
023. DETROIT LIONS - Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
They brought back Suh by paying him the value of a small country but they still need to replace the production of Nick Fairley.
024. ARIZONA CARDINALS - TJ Clemmings, OL, Pittsburgh
Arizona traded away Veldheer so it opened a pretty big hole on the offensive line... and we know how much Carson hates big holes.
025. CAROLINA PANTHERS - Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
The Panthers said goodbye to Double Trouble and enter the era of TG3.
026. BALTIMORE RAVENS - Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington
He's like Jon Beason but healthy!
027. DALLAS COWBOYS - Devin Funchess, WR, Michigan
The Cowboys GM can't rely on PFF for his draft rankings so he'll just take whoever Scott Wright tells him to.
028. ATLANTA FALCONS - Cameron Erving, OL, Florida State
The Falcons interior offensive line is looking pretty good but the tackle position needs some dire help.
029. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - Ty Sambrailo, OL, Colorado State
Jay Cutler needs plenty of time to chuck it 40 yards downfield to Mike Evans... so a left tackle would be pretty nice.
030. GREEN BAY PACKERS - Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi State
Paul is still drunk looking up funny gifs to post... he just picks the first linebacker he sees after noticing his time is almost up. Luckily for him, it wasn't a terrible one.
031. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma
The Seahawks... when in doubt, select a defensive player.
032. ARIZONA CARDINALS - Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn
I mean I like Danny Amendola and Ted Ginn Jr, but...

hmmmm......ok:up:

I wouldn't mind your pick, but I think the player I have in mind would be slightly shocking at #17 to some people to the point that if he's there I may trade down a few slots.
I can't select or trade a player twice though...wtf GIK. Clone him. -
Well I guess i cant take Shelton now... The commish is never allowed to be right
-
-
Scott Wright? Puh-leaze. Walter's Football all the way! *serious sarcasm!*
All though I'd have to admit....intriguing pick and glad to see maybe only one or 2 of my 8 or so options were picked ahead. Far closer then schisno's gotten. -

025. CAROLINA PANTHERS - Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Dallas trades to 25....Implements Jets scheme vs Miami. Run the ball 80-85% of the time...Romo only throws 6-8 times a game..all play action. -

I kinda hope Suh does move on in Detroit and gets matched up with another dominant DT. Would really like to see the hell that would bring (Just keep him out of our division).

Or instead of Randy Kiper and (i forget other name) a Todd or a Boik can be the Mayock of the group and create their own.
