CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman wrote Sunday that, while the Denver Broncos may keep Tim Tebow, there is also a possibility the former Florida Gators superstar could be traded or released.
Tebow played only six minutes in the Broncos exhibition Saturday against the Buffalo Bills, completing one of two passes, and getting sacked once.
Brady Quinn came into the game second, ahead of Tebow, as coach John Fox implied that he was rotating the No. 2 quarterbacks in the exhibitions until he makes a decision.

That's like being said you're going to get a promotion and then the last minute the boss changes his mind and gives it to someone else. I'd be pissed if I were in Tebow's situation... practically lied to in a sense.jim1 likes this. -

Tebow's lesser ability showed in practice this year.

I was rooting for this kid. Still am.

Just think, if he is released, New England could pick him up for nothing. IICC, Denver leapfrogged NE in the draft for Tebow because they knew NE wanted him.....remember.
Tebow was never going to be the starter in NE, and that won't change if Tebow gets released and goes there. -
Toronto Argonauts are calling:pointlol:

I'm not sure Tebow was ever told by the Broncos he was the starter, I think people assumed he was and even more so when they tried to trade Orton. Just not sure??
I'm a fan of Tebow the person, but I don't think he is a very good player though. He's been given the chance to play, but he has failed. I hate when people say "he was never given a chance". The public are not setting in meetings or going to every pratice. The public dont know what a team is really trying to do. If Tebow would have impressed the coaches, he wouldn't be rumored to be getting traded or released. -
I would like him as a development, WC QB. He might never be a starter, but he should evolve into a useful change of pace threat. I'd trade Merling for him.

I recall that when Tebow committed to UF most were saying he wouldn't succeed in the SEC. The arguments were identical to to the ones being used now. But Tebow went to a coach who understood how to use him and the result was very successful. If he goes to smart coach like BB then he can be successful again. If he gets stuck with a conventional coach then his talent will be wasted.

I'd absolutely, positively, totally would deal a 3rd round selection to Denver, tell Pat Devlin to take a hike and stash Tebow on my roster. If you're playing it right, you'll get your pick back down the line. And if you're lucky, you'll get even more or find yourself a talented QB.

I feel bad for the Bronco fan's, most probably bought into the Tebow hype machine, must be a heart breaker.

1) Offer Merling straight up for Tebow
2) If no go, fine offer 7th round pick w/Merling
3) If no go, ok, switch it to 6th & Merling
4) Pound sand, and wait for them to cut him then...but thats the max you get for a 4th QB you have rated him as.
If Denver keeps him as 4th QB per their own ratings so be it....but you dont dance with them if they think he is in a position to be worth anything more than a 1st rounder in Merling, and as much as a 6th, thats the max in my mind.
