I believe he could be a good coach, he just wasn't handed a very good situation. If he wins a few games the rest of this season he could get another year to put it all together. It all boils down to how much the players care about him and how hard they are willing to play to keep him. Any more major injuries may seal his doom.

I think eventually he may end up being a decent head coach somewhere, I just don't see it being with the Dolphins. I expect the Dolphins to only win 3 or 4 more games this season and that will lead to Ross wanting to hire a more experienced head coach.

Unfortunately if the next head coach is forced to take the job by accepting that Tannebaum and Hickey are going to remain in their positions. I don't see a top tier head coaching candidate wanting to take the Dolphins job and therefore getting another Sparano or Philbin type HC is a very strong possibility, IMO.

By the time Ross realizes he can hire a top tier HC, Campbell will already be hired by another team in the NFL as a position coach.

 

Or New Orleans if Payton is kept. Payton loves Campbell.

 

IMO Dallas Thomas can go wherever the f*ck he wants. As long as it ain't here.
