I would rather have Moreno back than Ridley.

It doesn't make any sense to me at all why we would cut Moreno and then go after Stevan Ridley. So i'm with all of you on this as well.

Moreno's dealt with a long list of injury issues the last couple his years, making his durability a serious question. As some of you may recall, Miami was the lone team interested in signing Knowshon for the '14 season, and prior to camp, Jason Cole reported that Moreno had a potentially degenerate knee condition. Since then, he's had arthroscopic knee surgery, a dislocated elbow, and a torn ACL. In his 6 NFL seasons, Moreno's only played in all 16 games on two occasions - his rookie year and '13. He played in 7 in 2011, 8 in 2012, and 3 last year.
So, yeah, I get why Miami's front office would be more interested in the younger, more durable player, especially considering his success running the ball in New England. I'd absolutely love this signing; he'd be a great compliment to Miller. I just fear that with New York's RB situation being more dire, Ridley may be enticed by the idea of grabbing the starting role from Ivory/Powell.Piston Honda likes this. -
Ridley has one major injury in his career. Moreno has had several. Two just this past year. Coming off a great season without an injury and we get him on a one year minimal deal. I'd rather we sign Ridley to be honest.

I hope he signs with the Jets.. this guy is useless... just draft a running back...
-
i dont want him. Draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th to groom.

I get that Moreno had his share of injury concerns but I also saw the energy that man brought to the offense and it was contagious. We were flat once he got hurt. I can't say the same for Ridley. JMO

Go Jets?
ewwww /shudder -
Rumor is the Dolphins handed him a pen to sign the contract and he fumbled the pen... Hickey had second thoughts as Ridley tried to pick up the pen, but his agent recovered it first.

I have to watch his 2014 tape to see why people are so negative about him. I'm not saying y'all are wrong. It could be similar to Michael Crabtree that way.
But my recollection of Ridley from 2011 to 2013 doesn't match the opinions I see here on him.Disgustipate and jdang307 like this. -
Incidentally with respect to the fumbles, fumbling the football once every 83 or so touches doesn't qualify as a fumbler.
I think people are confusing this issue because Bill Belichick has a particularly LOW appetite for fumbling to where he's perfectly willing to sacrifice talent for ball security in his runners (see: BenJarvus Green-Ellis), which probably has a LOT more to do with the Patriots six sigma fumble results over the years than the idea that they may have been constantly deflating footballs.jdang307 likes this. -

Ridley's worst season was 2014 where he started 6 games then got injured. People forget that NE wasn't playing that well to start the season and people thought SB MVP Tom Brady was done. He could have bounced back like the rest of the team. Sure, he may not be as good as Blount, but that's the nature of labor. Outside of certain jobs, there's a hierarchy. That doesn't mean he sucks, just that he's not as good as the other guy. -
Ridley is average in fumble rate. On Bills team that gets you benched. On the Dolphins that gets you Daniel thomas and 3.5 ypc.ckparrothead likes this. -
I don't want Ridley or Moreno. They both have their best years behind them. Moreno is injury prone and Ridley had one good season and hasn't been productive since that seaso n.
If the Dolphins want to sign a RB coming off a leg injury and who may be a very productive player for several seasons once he is fully recovered. All they need to do is draft Gurley and their RB problems will be resolved, once Gurley is paired with Miller. -

We kept trotting Thomas out so if that's the case, might as well go for the better runner  -
