Hey, Ronnie played hard here. He was a solid pick for us, and he gave us some exciting (and boring) plays here. I'll always remember him for his wildcat debut... 5 td's against The Pats was a great day, and his first half of 2007. He was really tearing it up before the ACL. Bye Ronnie, thanks for the memories and I'm glad you're not going to a crappier team. Have fun winning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here's a quiz question: Michael Vick, Vince Young, Ronnie Brown, Desean Jackson and LeSean McCoy jog out onto the field and line up in a new Wildcat wrinkle... how do you line up your defense... BEGIN! 10-9-8-7......
I know I always saw so much potential in Ronnie. He gave everything he had go this franchise, a number of things happened last season for him not to have a good season.....I hate it. I feel like if he had a good season he would of been resigned
I remember him, but I wouldn;t put him out there. Need to leave enough spots for big nasties as blockers, plus Maclin's a downfield straight line guy.. not a wildcat dude IMO. Wildcat is best with versatile runners who can also throw, catch or block in a pinch... not straightline speed WRs who aren;t very physical... so I limited myself to ONE speedster. Desean is better at running with the ball in a crwod (reverse, punt returns etc), so I'd rather he be out there than maclin. 5 Oline. 2 QB/RBs (Young and Vick) 2 RBs (Brown and McCoy) 1 WR What could happen???
Besides the regret because I really thought it smart to resign Ronnie to share carries with the rookie the other thing this signing does is make me laugh. Why? Because the Eagles are signing Ronnie Brown while they already have Lesean McCoy and commenting that "you can never have to many good backs in this league". At the same time I've been arguing with certain posters on this board that feel going into a season with only a Rookie RB and a broken down 3rd down back is actually a good strategic play. Funny stuff. Happy for Brown though. He's got a great shot at a championship and I'll bet he tears it up this year because of proper usage. We better have a plan in mind at the RB position and act soon.
Congratulations Ronnie Got a feeling if your healthy you'll be awesome on a real team and make everyone here proud and also put another nail into the coffin of tweedle dumb and treedle dumber........... Dead organization walking
Someone explain to me how we have to trade for Reggie Bush, yet we get nothing for Ronnie Brown. Not even a tender extended to him?
I just threw up. Of all the dumbass teams to go to this just sickens me. I'd rather the patsies jesters or shrills.
I wonder if the fans start cheering for Ronnie when the Eagles come to town if Miami is eliminated by that point.
If we tendered him, we'd get something correct? So now it's down to maybe a supplemental draft pick next year? edit: NVM he was a UFA that we just let slip away.
Good luck to you Ronnie. Class act. Time to hang up that jersey and got my fresh Vontae Davis jersey waiting!
1 but 3 interceptions in a 10/30/150 yard performance. I have Washington as the early leaders in the Andrew Luck Bowl. Mike Shanahan has an enormous amount of work to be done
Its upsetting but this is the nature of the business at times unfortunately. To front offices, the players are mostly pieces of meat (not good when served raw or overdone). To be honest, Philly or Baltimore is kinda where I thought he might go. Both should be playoff teams making a deep run in a year where there really isnt any early clear cut favorite other then Pitt, NE, NYJ and Balt in the AFC and GB, Philly, N.O. in the NFC. Hopefully Ronnie does well (except against us and the NYG) and stays healthy.
Damn. I was hoping there would still be a small chance we would have brought him back. As frustrating as he could be to watch at times, I really enjoyed watching him play here, especially with the evolution of the wildcat. Glad he's going to the Eagles though, he's got a real chance to win a title there. He deserves it IMO. Good guy. Guess I need a new avy now. booo
Don't like it but I can't do anything about it. If it was up to me he would've been resigned already. Who knows what could happen in this new offense if he was here.
I need a shoulder to cry on if we don't at least sign Ricky back, sigh! Cheers to last place and getting Andrew Luck! Good Luck Ronnie Brown...
It will be tough to see Ronnie wearing another uniform but things are what they must be. I wish him farewell and success. (just not success playing against Miami)
He had his shot here and really never lived up to the hype. Good back with no top end speed. Never great though. I won't miss him because it is time to move on.
Good for Ronnie. I hope he has success. I liked him as a player and he always played hard. Not the biggest loss in the world, though.
I wish him all the luck in the world. He may have never been exactly what we hoped for, but the guy gave everything on the field and was a solid player for us. Too bad he was a little injury prone and lacked that top gear. Not sure what my kids'll do, they love him!
