In my eyes he looked better running the ball. You cant get in a groove when they are pulling you out of the game. I think if we would of kept running the ball early and often WITH Ronnie we would of established a good running game.
Too many 3 and outs
Too many penalties (youth, & coaching)
Why is our 1 reciever not getting touches/open?
Brandon Fields needs to give his paycheck back
Good job Fasano.

I hate all the Ronnie vs Ricky threads, but I gotta admit, Ronnie looked better today.

I like both of these backs. I don't care who starts. The only thing that matters to me is making sure Ronnie takes it slow enough that he doesn't re-injure anything and of course for the Dolphins to win.

I'd like to see them pick one guy and give him the ball 20 times or so a game and give the other guy more of the ball after the main guy gets his 20.
Considering we have RB and RW on this team i saw way too much of Cobbs in the game.Almost something that Cam would do.......scary. -
I will say on the last play Ginn should have never allowed Revis to intercept that pass.
If Pennington just threw it out of the back of the endzone that would have never been an issue but the game is over and it is time to move on.TheAnswer385 and HULKFish like this. -

If our WR corps doesnt pick it up in general it will be Crabtrees name getting called on draft day. -
Ginn's trouble is that his family doesn't get to come out on the field and help him play.

Ginn didnt lose it, but he didnt help us win it either. Pretty much a non-factor. We need him to pick it up, along with Ricky, and we need the rest of the WR corps to come out and play as well.
God, and chambers just got a 44yd TD, I hate Cameron. Was never a big chambers fan, but he would be a big help right now. -
I feel happy for Chambers. He gave this team a lot of good years and didn't get the same effort back from the team as a whole.
I do think he's terribly missed around here, though. -
I see people pointing out that the 1st round WR talent we picked is not producing.
Now he's still young and generally people look at 3 years for a WR to grow and flourish so we can keep that in mind.
Having said that though, I don't see the problem in pointing out that his play is not impressive because it wasn't at all.
The team has pretty much put him in the role of #1 WR and that comes with expectations of production bottom line.FinSane likes this. -
Neither back looked good today. Neither was given an opportunity to find a groove. It was obvious when we were running the ball, so neither had much of a chance. There was no creativity. No draws, no counters, no delays. I don't see where one looked better than the other. Way too many variables to quantify who "looked" better. We fell behind and our penalties and such put us further into passing situations. There was no way to conclude who was better. Ronnie's yards per carry were a little higher, but that was due to one decent run. Other than that, they were both stymied at the line for the most part. -
As for the Ronnie V. Ricky stuff.
I don't really have a problem with them splitting carries with these 2 together.
It's not like last year where Cameron was splitting carries with Ronnie for "I ate myself out of the league" Chatman. That was ridiculous..... completely ridiculous.
Here you've got 2 very talented backs splitting the carries so I can't fault them. -
Oh, and by the way, he's GONE. We sure could have used his expert skill of getting open over the middle, dropping the football, falling to the ground, and yelling at the officials for a pass interference call. Yeah, I really miss Chris Chambers. -
Second year player you're hating on in Ted Ginn Jr and our own version of the prayer pass?
If you wanna hate on anyone, hate on that "big time red zone threat" everyone was bragging up in Wilford... Why wasn't he playing in the game today? Oh wait, he was inactive......byroan likes this. -

The decision that cost us the game:
Throwing twice from the 3 yrd line on 3rd & 4th downs, instead of giving Ronnie two tries. There is no doubt in my mind, Ronnie gets the TD.Uncle Rico and HULKFish like this. -
There is NO doubt that Ronnie looked better. He had a swagger and looked 100%. What a heads up play in the 4th when he caught that ball, broke a tackle turned and got out of bounds! Ricky looked slow and weak. They only good play Ricky made was that over the shoulder grab. Betcha Ronnie gets the start @ Arizona!

I think Ricky Williams, especially on this site, was over-rated the past few weeks. I kept trying to say, lets see him do it in a real game, but nobody listened. Ronnie looked a lot better out there today and I believe Sparano noticed it, but maybe there is more than meets the eye with his injury and thats why he only ran the ball six times.
Time will tell.
You guys do have a solid young team though, I was impressed.
Come 2009 when Brady is back, the AFC East will have the best Division in the NFL once again. All four teams will fight for playoff berths. Mark it down. -
Ginn was out of the game A LOT... every time we lined up i checked the WRs that were on the field... Ginn was on the bench plenty, he should have been out there 90% of the snaps, but it was more like 60%, i dont know why, but thast what i saw...

Do not overlook the fact that Ronnie needs to be kept on a "pitch count" at least early in the season. I think the FO sees Ronnie as an asset to protect, not to just throw out there to apease the fan base. It is better to let Ronnie actually mark the 1 year anniversary of the injury by playing rather than watching from the sideline having reinjured the same knee by playing too often, too early.
If this is still happening by week 8 then I will have an issue with it, but his injury typically takes 12-18 months and he hasn't even made it to a year yet - be patient.HULKFish likes this. -

I'm curious how you can say "Ronnie gets the TD" on the 3 yard line, with any degree of assurance when Ronnie struggled to get positive yardage all day.
Did you not see how difficult it was for our RBs to gain yardage, how much more difficult do you think it would be with everyone crammed in the end zone?
Saying you'd do something after seeing how the alternative worked out is like predicting yesterday's weather. Pretty sure Sparano would make a different call now too. If only life worked that way... -
oh jesus are we really still on about ricky vs. ronnie? why can't we just keep the RBBC approach? we have two backs that could very well be pro-bowl contenders if they were on any other team, i'm just happy to have two GREAT running backs.
Ricky looked solid today also, that catch over-the-shoulder was just amazing as well. The Jets D stuffed all our run game yesterday. i'm not ready to annoint ronnie as the starter over ricky because of similar production with 4 less carries, guys... -
