Because here at ThePhins.com Gaming Forum, we're equal opportunity rumor-mongers.
There's a rumor floating around that Sony is also getting ready to introduce a couple of new PS3 bundles this year. We're not talking "redesign" like the new 360, but Sony already launched the redesigned PS3, so hey.
Bundle 1: 250GB hard drive, Playstation Move controller, Wi-Fi N.
Bundle 2: 500GB hard drive, Playstation Move controller, Wi-Fi N.
Why such large hard drives? Maybe Sony is getting ready to sell PS2 games on the PSN Store.
To this rumor's credit, the FCC has posted information about new PS3s. This all "seems" to be true. Though you have to wonder what's going on with those "PSP2" rumors.

Meh.
To sell more.
First thing my bud did was open is up and stick a 500g drive in it. -
Kinect and the Move are big risks. Mid-life add-ons have never done very well. -
Well, Sony is also rolling out 3D updates to all their systems this summer.
Maybe that has something to do with it? -
I don't see how those would be related. 3D and Move are different technologies. Move, for all its 1:1 tracking, is still designed for a plain old flat TV screen, not a 3D pop-out image.

The only other "announced" 3D update will be for 3D blu-ray play back and should be sometime this fall.
