You guys keep forgetting with a rookie salary cap the money has to go somewhere. For a QB who is having a fine year and getting better every year, it's not that obscene.

I can't wait for the day Miami gives a nice contract to a good QB.

No money is too much for a franchise QB, plain and simple.

If anything, I think a problem may be his age, is his contract back-loaded? If it is you guys may end up overpaying a guy who could be on the decline.
-
As good as Fitz is, he is going to be playing within a small window, time is not on his side.

heh

If the owner had any sense at all, he'd fire Nix after the season. A GM can't commit to paying a guy that much money and then the following year come back and say oops and continue to be employed by that team.

WC is terrible at predictions.
I'm still waiting for that 40 burger he promised in 2010 when Trent Edwards was still their QB.Mainge likes this. -

this is just rich -
FWIW, I think the Bills flat out panic-ed as a an organization.
Now what, they are going with Barkley? A pop gunned arm Qb in Buffalo?
They should have just stuck with Fitz and rode the season out, they now are a sort of Marlins of the NFL, schizoid, pay $$$ one year, have a Qb in place, now they lost their best OLmen and starting Qb and Lb and SS and this is before the season begins.
With no one to replace them, now they probably have to reach for a Qb and may have to trade up even to take Geno Smith.
