Anyone notice that he got the start today over Aiken? I'm re-watching the game now, and he played relatively well in this one -- both in coverage and in the run game. It looks as though the FS position is his now, at least for the near future.

He's been getting the majority of the snaps at the other safety spot. He's a nice player and Campbell was raving about his leadership the other day. He's another guy who plays with a ton of passion.
Aikens is still a pup. He'll get other opportunities.P h i N s A N i T y, gunn34 and ssmiami like this. -
Yup, I recall seeing him step for step with a Houston receiver in the first half and thinking Damn that's the tightest coverage I've ever seen from him; really looked fast.

also, i´m no expert by any means, but that must have been the best game of Dallas Thomas career, i know that doesn´t say a lot, but he almost by himself set up that 85 yard run by lamar, blocking 2 guys on that play.

Michael Thomas played pretty well as far as I could tell yesterday. He wasn't being abused in coverage like Taylor was, and he didn't get beaten deep. Didn't notice any clear missed tackles either. Thats about all we can ask when we have a backup starting for us.

Another great thing about Thomas is that he is a leader off the field in the community as well. Last week he was the nflpa community service player of the week.

The defense as a whole looked tough as nails yesterday. I like how it seemed Campbell was resting some players for the Thursday game in the second half. That was smart as hell because we had such a huge lead. All the while, NE was in a dogfight until the end.
