To this day I am mystified how he slipped to the 20s in the 2005 draft. It's insane.

This game is the duel of former Dolphins quarterbacks-to-be: Brees and Rodgers. We had plenty of chances at them and whiffed.

 

I loved both comin out, wanted brees with our first round pick...Rodgers was just so super accurate with such a quick speed of motion for college football it was ridiculous...He just doesn't waste any movement or throws..

No, padre, that's not how it was. That's how you imagine it was. Rodgers was not a project, though I certainly won't argue against your notion that he got better by learning before jumping in. He certainly did. But he was clearly skilled and coachable from the start, and could have played in his rookie year if need be.

I think deep down our players know we stole that game. They had 15 players out due to injury, Rodgers was concussed, and we still needed an OT FG to beat them.

That team is just plain old better than us. Tramon Williams is what we imagine Vontae Davis to be; Jordy Nelson is what we imagine Brian Hartline to be. We have an advantage with Cam Wake (more efficient as a pass rusher than Clay Matthews, who needed more pass rush attempts to generate his numbers relative to Wake) and Jake Long. Maybe Dan Carpenter. Besides those three, I'd trade our roster for theirs right now.

Fact yes, he sat on the bench for 3yrs..okay on the same page on that one, the next thing was a project, iirc he came from Tedford's offense and Carr had fabously busted out and the analysts were going on and on about how he could be drafted early but probably would not be as it would take time to learn to get the ball from under center etc.

Thusly a team that could wait however long it took him to develop selected him, ie, the Packers.

Smith did not sit, came from the same system, and has been poor to average at best.

 

There is a difference between having to adjust to an nfl offense, which aaron had to do, and being a project, which he wasnt even close to...obviously you dont know what a project is and neither do you know what kind of offense Rodgers ran in college, because his offense wasnt close to what Alex Smith ran....

I don't disagree with that, especially the Jordy nelson thing, but they are not in the 4th year of a total rebuild..we were in our third year, and we still beat them at their park..Rodgers being cuncussed was BS, the man's offense was shutdown except for 1 big play to Jennings, our defense out muscled them, the only luck that was present was that they were missing two star football players, in terms of how we beat them and the score, was not as close, the way we controlled them at the LOS on both sides would have me think its was the packers who were lucky to be close.

Lets give a young building team credit where its at least deserved..They should get some confidence watching this game.
