yeah Wayne isnt paying someone 80 million over 8 years. id rather take DeAngelo Hall, AND or Albert Haynesworth. those 2 combined can probably be had for less than 80 million.

 

We do not need a CB 80 million dollars bad, whomever signs him, I wish them well.

 

we probably WOULD need to trade a draft pick for DeAngelo Hall, BUT...it would be like a swap. we give them our #1 pick for their #4 pick PLUS DeAngelo Hall. the Falcons could use a RB, QB, DT...so im sure McFadden is high on their list, so is Brohm or Dorsey.

 

Zone coverage teams don't pay cornerbacks. That's why Madison and Surtain are gone. We are a zone team.

 

Samuel deserves more than Clements got. Clements didn't deserve $80 million though.

I'd rather not do that kind of contract. We're not a couple of players away. We're half a roster away.

What I'd rather do is draft Mike Jenkins. :)

 

ill draft both CBs out of USF, and theyll be in their home territory anyway, maybe that'll motivate them more.

 

DeAngelo Hall is an overrated cancer.

It's Asomugha or bust for us in my opinion. Although I really like Trufant.

Yep Samuals is going to get a bigger contract than Clements. Heck he would have last year if he did not get tagged. Nate is was not the best CB. But he did make his bank. Now Asante will cash in

Everyone working themselves up over Asomugha, don't expect him to hit free agency. Expect DeAngelo Hall to be available for a trade, Asante "Get Paid" Samuel to be a free agent, and Marcus Trufant to be waiting in the wings. Out of those three, I'd throw money at Trufant. Samuel is overrated, we have too many needs to trade for Hall, and Asomugha likely won't be there.

Trufant or bust in the cornerback free agent market.

Also: no Haynesworth, please.

 

why would they lose an awesome CB in hall for only 3 draft spots when, you said it your self, they neeeed a QB HB and DT. they would just keep hall and pick brohm at #4. i would love to trade down to number four and still get my guy (chris long) but it will never happen.

Adding an Asomugha or a Trufant would allow Capers to trust the secondary again, allowing him to play the attacking scheme he likes.

I LOVE the thought of Asomugha/Trufant and Will Allen as our starters with Andre Goodman and Mike Lehan as our nickel and dime. We'd be able to do a lot of different things up front and we could address other needs on draft day besides cornerback.

 

Odd Unified, I look at this in the exact opposite view, it makes more sense to me to sign lineman in FA who have learned their trade and then spend draft picks on the more expensive in FA "athletes" like CB's and DE's.

A Max Starks would cost less then half of what a Ashomogua would cost, and it would be simpler and more cap friendly to draft a CB who can play man on man.

That and a healthy duo of Goodman and Allen would allow us to look elsewhere I'd think, I can see picking up a Eugene Wilson from the Pats to give us a QB on defense.

max starks is not as good as he was a year or 2 ago, he is another shelton NO thanks, i rather go O line draft then FA. and a healthy goodman and allen STILL are not good enough dude. allen is a #2 guy not a 1 and goodman is a nickel dime guy not a 2. we have players out of position throughout our entire defense cuz of lack of talent n depth. I rathr get a Ash/Trufant and a Otah then a Starks and Lowrey lets say.

 

And pay 80 million for a CB while our QB is sacked and our running game goes nowhere?

CB can play or they cannot, and one knows pretty darn quickly if they can or not, an Olineman can take 5 years learning the craft, and can only develop more as the play more.

We can "get by" with goodman and allen, our lines need work immediately.

For example, we could draft a Mike Jenkins, and expect that he would play at a high level, to draft a RT or LT and expect the same is not reality unless they were "special" indeed.

 

I think Samuel is a product of New England's defensive system. Clements is harder to gauge. Unless a guy is Champ Bailey I don't know if spending huge amounts on a CB is worth it. They're playing an unfair game, i've seen Plexico Burress literally throw a CB to the ground and nothing is called. Now 99% of the time if the CB breathes too heavily on a guy he's flagged.

Eight years 80 million seems like alot but who the hell cares as fans? Contracts are often back-loaded so guys are cut. I'll take a few years of salary-cap hell if it means the team is a playoff contender for a couple seasons. I'm a fan and want to see the team improve drastically but really this team is in jeopary of becoming the Bungles of the '90's.

 

Wanting out and getting out are two totally different things. There are three ways Hall can leave Atlanta. One, he can be cut: I really doubt that's going to happen. Two, he can be traded, but that's unlikely, as Atlanta would want quite a bit for him, even more than they got for Matt Schaub. Lastly, he can play out the rest of his contract and hit free agency.

I shouldn't need to say which option is most likely.

 

Samual's young and very talented. He would do wonders for our secondary. If we can throw big money at him like we did Porter, I would love to see him here. A pats player coming here for a change, instead of the other way around.
