Yes, among other teams. In fact, in Zach Thomas' first ever NFL game, vs New England, he forced Jefferson to fumble. Fins scored a TD on the following drive and never looked back that day :up:

He's been a coach since 2005, so he's got a decade of experience under his belt there. I really like the hire.

 

Shawn looks like an "in your face" tough coach. Good. We need more like him throughout the team.

I would hire Duper and let him teach the WR's.

 

Does Duper want to coach? Is he a coach? He has Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), ftr.

 

I wouldn't think of Duper as being a good coach either, he was fast, that was his thing, he ran deep routes almost exclusively, and he got fat every offseason.

As great a tandem as Clayton and Duper were, I don't think either of them would have made good coaches, they weren't even easy to coach, both were known as somewhat troublesome players, and neither guy did anything during the offseason to make themselves better.

If they took their careers as seriously as they took partying, both of their careers would probably been longer, they got by on being very physically gifted.

 

Jefferson had some serious WR talent to work with in Tennessee. Didn't seem to get much out of them.

 

Not too worried about whoever we pick here. Gase is overall responsible for the offense so we'll succeed or fail on offense based on him.

Big question is who is the DC.

 

I would also think that Gase, having been a WR and QB coach himself, will pick guys that will work well within his system. Of course, we thought that would be the case with Sparano and Philbin on the OL and look how that turned out, but I have a lot more confidence in Gase at this point than I ever did in those two.
