It's sad when people lose their lives, but the angle of this story makes me think that it's portrayed that the old man did something wrong in protecting his business & employees.
The whole thing could have been prevented if not for a bad decision by the would be robbers to go into the store.

It's always sad when people do things that cost them their lives.
Bottom line is that they chose a life of crime. You want to play that game, you're going out messy and young.

Bro i saw this story last night. He had been robbed before. The shotgun he grabbed was 20 years old and in the box still. He even tried to talk one of the robbers out of it, and asked just to leave and he would leave it at that, and he wouldn't. He felt really bad for the families of the two robbers that died.

My fear is that this man will bear the brunt of the misplaced blame for this act and will be in for a ****storm.
That's what gets me. Using phrases like "opens fire" like he walked into a pick up basketball game and started shooting.
Yet he gets the "what goes around" aimed at him.
I applaud him as well for fighting back. The shopkeeper and his employees may have ended up a statistic of a crime as well. -
Could the neighbor quoted be talking about the guy that died?
I read it like this: "He died in the hands of God. But live by the sword, die by the sword."

I just think this is a case of a good and compassionate man being forced to do something horrific. This says much about him I think;
He's been there like 40 years and probably meant it when he said he would let it go. Bad decisions by the robbers, now there's victims all over.calphin and Crappy Tipper like this. -
