''He's great, he's terrific,'' Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga told The Miami Herald after a 2 ½-hour dinner with Sparano and several Dolphins employees. ``But all the guys we have brought in so far have been very good.''
All of those guys, however, have not yet been invited back for a second interview. All of those guys also didn't get a night out with a group that included vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, general manager Jeff Ireland, Huizenga and Wiedmeier.
Huizenga still warned that a deal was not yet complete.
''No, no,'' Huizenga said. ``They are going to talk [Wednesday].''
Huizenga then got into his black Mercedes and left the restaurant. The rest of the group piled into Wiedmeier's SUV, which delivered Sparano, 46, to his hotel, where he would get a few hours rest before what will certainly be a long, eventful day.
