From PFT:
Texans receiver Kenny Stills, an NFL player who will always say and do what he believes regardless of the consequences, has made his views clear regarding the team’s decision to fire P.R. director Amy Palcic. Stills doesn’t like it.
Although not available to reporters on Wednesday — one of the realities of life in COVID-19 for NFL teams — Stills used Twitter to express himself. He affirmatively has shared his belief that Palcic “is great,” and he has clicked the “like” button on various tweets sharply critical of the team’s decision.
Stills’ “likes” include this tweet, from Charean Williams of PFT: “The Texans have turned into one of the worst organizations in football since Bob McNair died. @amypalcic was the best. She certainly was too good for what the Texans deserve.”
Stills has only 10 catches for 138 yards in 2020.
ME - It's one thing to voice your opinion, it's another to cr@p on the team when you only got 10 for 138. Always about him and his "feelings" his "opinions". Shut up and go catch the ball, something he hasn't done with regularity this year. Team first. Your crap second.

It doesnt bother me personally. I don't believe in towing the company line. It might be a bit over the top but hes not wrong.
-
I'd be more concerned though if the Texans were a good team and he was causing drama. Losing usually brings out the worst in that type of person and I'd bet everyone is frustrated, hes just the one who says it out loud. -

Everything I've read has been in support of Amy Palcic. It's not only Stills but even JJ Watt has come out against the move. The worst part is no one seems to know what the real reason is, just some vague nonsense about not being a match in the organization any longer. I don't have a problem with Kenny expressing his opinions on things but clearly Flores had difficulty with something about him. After he and Flores started clashing last year it wasn't long before he found himself in Houston.

What is difficult, but necessary for a leader within an organization is to be positive (even in failure, something positive can be learned) as your actions are an example to those who look at you as a role model. In failure, one must ask "what more could I have done?" because there is ALWAYS one more thing you could have done. And as a leader, a mentor and a role model to junior members of your organization you have to be able to pick up that burden, place it on your shoulders and proverbially say to the others, "we got this" and keep striving to be better.
Kenny Stills, despite his talents is becoming another Terrell Owens...a cancer within that organization that needs to be removed.Irishman and Tin Indian like this. -
Here, you have a guy who effectively lied on his resume and remains on the team, and a lady whose PR team won an NFL award a couple years ago and she's let go.
That franchise's FO is kind of a dump right now. The O'Brien stench lingers.Irishman, Puka-head, Tin Indian and 1 other person like this. -

Are you going to create a post about how bad JJ Watt is? Move this to where it belongs, the Other NFL forum. Two Tacos likes this. -
That goes for all athletes, all people as well. A job is a job and your boss doesn't own you. We need to get rid of that mentality that only certain people have a right to express themselves. In America, we're all equal and we all have voices.Tin Indian likes this. -

Here's what JJ said. Maybe you can see the difference in how a professional handles it and not an underachieving malcontent.
“I think you can tell from the universal response from prominent people in the business, what type of person Amy is and how well respected and well liked she is, both inside our building and outside the building,” Watt told reporters Wednesday. “Extremely professional. Just really good at her job. Cared a lot. Just wants what’s best for the team and what’s best for the organization. Always trying to do what’s best, and was a massive helping hand with me during the hurricane, during my entire time here. So, I think it’s a very difficult loss. She’s an incredible person and I think she’s going to have another job in an absolute heartbeat. I think it’s a big loss for us.”Irishman likes this. -

Why? Because I can write "I like butterflies" in a post. Let's say you like butterflies too, so you like my post. Then I edit that to say, "I like butterflies and Tom Brady is the devil." Guess what, you've already liked my post about the devil Brady. Or maybe the whole message was there from the start and let's say that you really, really like butterflies....or maybe you want to hook up with my sister. So you still like the post. A like in no way represents someone's opinions or interests....you have no idea why someone likes something.
And by the way, the organization does suck since the owner died. They have a very talented playoff roster and they've won one game this year. It's not rocket science to realize that something's off over there.Last edited: Nov 13, 2020resnor, Puka-head and AGuyNamedAlex like this. -

Big whoop. I liked Stills on and off the field but he's gone now. I couldn't care less about whether he thinks the team was wrong to fire somebody. Turns out, several other players (including JJ Watt) have gone on record to say that she was wonderful too. If I was irritated by Stills for this, I'd be irritated by them too. And in 2020, that irritation is at the bottom of a big pile of more important things for me.

I've got no problem with Kenny Stills speaking his mind, last I looked NFL teams were all US companies.
But he can raise all the trouble he wants over there, anything to help that team lose every game possible is great. He's still a Dolphin at heart maybe.KeyFin likes this. -

So, multiple players had a problem with the PR director being fired, but Stills get singled out because...

It would address the reason so many of these immature players complain on social media; especially when their play is between lackluster and non-existent on the field.
The example where JJ Watts complained was a misrepresentation of what the quote demonstrated. He was sad about the loss of someone he felt was doing a good job and that is all. I used the word misrepresentation because it is accurate and unemotional. There is a four letter word I could have used that is also accurate, but usually very emotional.
If you work for a company but don't like what's going on, you can always quit. Expressing your opinions about the company while you remain working for that company relegates your position to just a whine. If you have INTEGRITY and you feel the company is doing something bad, quitting says a lot more then a bunch of overstated verbiage from a disgruntled employee who doesn't like working there!
You are justified in taking anything they have to say with a "pinch of salt".Last edited: Nov 15, 2020Finatik likes this. -
Shut up and catch the ball... ah, you must be a frequent OAN/Fox viewer.
I dont like the tweets he liked, it is bad attention on himself. The Texans fired Amy due to her political views and he has a problem with it, but he should direct the issues with the one who made the decision, not the whole organization. And he definitely shouldnt like a tweet that mentions Bob McNairs death.
But other than that? Stills has shown to be a very good man and guaranteed he has done a whole lot more in his community service than you have.Silverphin, Puka-head and Fireland like this. -
The problem I has is that he’s insulting his team. Agreeing they suck. Maybe they do, but show up. And what have you done to keep it real and winning? Very little. JJ at least kept it classy. That is the difference. NEVER INSULT YOUR TEAM. Ever. Period.
