I read this article and got the chills. We all have been debating this all offseason, some of you wanted him traded for a 2nd and or Sherman. I said we lacked explosiveness. If this comes true, we go from 10 wins to 13 wins

Another article broke today that they plan on using Grant spread to the outside a lot more. I think out offense is going to start getting exciting this coming season with all kinds of new looks and attacking.

My bud aqua knows that the real Spider-Man is CC84.... I hope devante can breakout in the right offense like Chris did.

Pretty safe prediction but still nice to hear. For Parker it is just a question of him getting serious about football now being his job. He can bounce around the league for 8 or 10 years and make a few million dollars, or he can commit to training and eating a certain way and make that much in the first year or 2 of his next contract. When Gase called him out I was very happy because, regardless of how Parker responds, it marked the end of the era of coaches coddling players that has gone on here for too long.

Good Lord, if Parker manages to break out into a game-wreaking WR (like we saw in the 4th quarter against the Rams), our offense will be damn near unstoppable.
Collectively, this team has so much potential for this season and beyond. I'm already pumped. -
Love Parker. Wanted him to be our first round pick as soon as the college season ended.
But where does this Spiderman nickname come from? New to me.dolphin25 likes this. -

Meh. It's a fluff piece based on a few non contact drills in the crotch of the off season. I want to get excited too but let's wait a couple months. Let's hope a paper cut doesn't derail Parker's season. -

The following season, after much of the same, the Chargers traded him at the deadline to Kansas City, and despite being thrown into that situation, he managed to do great, catching 36 passes for 608 yards in nine games. Even though he was 31, only there half a season, catching passes from mediocre Matt Cassel, and on his third team in two years, he was easily their most effective player through the air.
In his last season, at age 33 in KC, he was injured again, and the Chiefs had a number of new players on offense that they wanted to give bigger roles to. And that was it.
I feel bad for him. He was a really good player who never once in his 10 year career was able to be in a stable, productive situation as a starter. One of those guys who I'll always wonder "what if", you know. Wrs are perhaps more dependant on their surroundings to flourish than any other position in football, and by extension, about as much as any position in all the major sports. Given the opprotunity, I see no real reason that Chambers couldn't have instead had the career of someone like Torry Holt, Roddy White, or Greg Jennings. He was just in the wrong spots at the wrong times.resnor, danmarino and Dol-Fan Dupree like this. -

I missed the part where anyone compared them ! I didn't give Devante the nickname Chambers was known for.....
Can't say I'm surprised you took time to show some hate for a former player.... Whom was the best we had for a while. I always thought he was a nice player that was above average for a few years.... The "overrated" talk is just kind of cluelessness because no one ever thought anything of Chambers and most fans just hated the whole offense at that point. -
That Denver game was a classic, and it's true cc would hesitate to attack the ball in traffic afterwards. The tallest, longest 5'11 I've ever seen, with a ridiculous vert jump. Just all finess.
I think the Parker hype is really unwarranted and I stand by my statement that I only hope he can produce like Chambers did under the right circumstances. 1300, 11 TDs....if you think that's bad mojo than you're on some ish. -
Parker is our best receiver, or at least he better be if we are going to be good. Id trade Landry now if we can get a late first or early second. He is great at his current value, but with him Stills and Parker signing him next year to a huge deal is not going to be a good move. Great players on value deals are the biggest thing to find, great players on huge deals are still great but less great, but good players on huge deals are the worst thing you can do obviously besides bad players on huge deals. The deal he is going to get next summer is not going to be worth it and, this team wont do it, but they would be prudent to get huge value for him now before he gets way to expensive next year.

Chambers would make the most crazy difficult catches seem routine and would back that up by dropping the easiest ones that were right on the money. And that was what he did ALL THE TIME, not just sometime. It was like he had a serious focus problem and unless it demanded intense focus to make the catch he didn't focus at all.
Come to think of it, he was probably better off with the hacks we had throwing the ball back then. If there had been more on target throws he probably would have barely made the roster. -

Regarding Parker, I hope he does great. However, he's so far averaging 619 yds per year and 3.5 tds. I know he had a foot thing but at the end of the day, we spent a first round pick on him. The expectation is he needs to start getting 1000 yds minimum each year and should be getting at least a touchdown every other game right? I want more than that but I'd settle for that. -

If you go by the games where he got onto the field and was given the chance to play offense, he's only really played in 23 games so far in his career. In those games, his 16-game average is 57 catches, 861 yards, and 5 TDs. For a player splitting time at WR with a prolific guy in Landry, and a big play option in Stills, thats certainly not the kind of line people should scoff at for the introduction to a career.
I have a feeling that Parker is really going to step up this season, and be a 70 catch, 1200 yard type of player, with good Red Zone skills, and that he's more going to live up to his billing. But even if he does not, giving him the chance to do so is paramount. Plenty of great players in Dolphins history haven't done a ton early on, and then broke out. McDuffie only had 56 catches for 685 yards and 3 TDs total in his first two seasons. Jason Taylor had 16.5 sacks total in his first three years. More recently, Charles Clay had 34 total catches his first two seasons, and Lamar Miller only had 959 rushing yards in his first two.
Give the guys some time. Be patient and let them develop.resnor likes this. -
I can only imagine the threads that would be started if we traded him, and he finally was healthy and lit the league up. It would be epic around here.

I think everybody believes in Parker's big playmaking ability. I also think everybody believes he's injury prone. We just have to wait and see what happens.
Also, I don't think you could get Sherman for Parker straight up. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
